'16 NJ QB Jarrett Guarantano (Vols commit 4/15/2015)

Per P Fort

He has started following UF's coaches on Twitter and so you know UF is trying.

I'm sure it's not an easy day when they guy a year younger than you gets a ton of pub. But, we will let things calm down. According to the report from New Jersey he said he's still going to Tennessee. Obviously, it's something to pay attention to but we'll wait and see how things play out.

Got to think Guarantano is regretting his decision now as Tenn was loaded at QB prior to his commmitment and now they landed the class of 2017's #1 quarterback, Hunter Johnson. Here's an article from our friends at Tennessee247

I'm sure his dad is pissed considering this kid is not only enrolling early, but he was the only QB they offered in the 17' class. JG only committed to UT after Austin Kendall decommitted and pledged to Oklahoma. Wouldn't shock me if he tried to start talking to Ohio State again

He's clueless about JGs recruitment. It's all based on the twitter follows.

How articulate. That just exudes professionalism. I'm not saying that it's good that he followed Florida's coaches on twitter but there is too much supposition and conjecture to be taken seriously. This guy obviously hasn't spoken to Guarantano recently and is making some very big presumptions. He comes across as a Rutgers fan with sour grapes.

I've seen Rutgers fans on Twitter taking shots at Butch Jones for taking Johnson in 2017. Are we supposed to not recruit any QBs for the entire 4 years JG is here?

People are clueless.

Butch could have just told Johnson to keep the commitment silent until after NSD. That's what a lot of coaches would have done.

Angelo Rizzolo the 3rd culprit

Just my gut feeling, JG ends up somewhere other than Tennessee, and not Rutgers. With the way his recruitment has gone, I could see him ending up at a school we didn't really hear too much about throughout the process.

Just changed his Twitter background image to a Tennessee edit. Errybody chill!
That doesn't mean much. Tennessee fans are spamming him about following UF coaches. Of course he's not going to change his stuff to random stuff or say anything like I'm not sure anymore. That would be stupid because the backlash would be tremendous.

Like I said it's not a huge concern right now, but it's not something to just say chill he's definitely a VFL. We need to give this some time to see how it will play out.

That's a reasonable take on it. The real key here is whether or not he starts taking official visits (besides one to Tennessee). I'm sure Fort will ask him about that this week. Nothing to see here until he plans an OV somewhere else.

The Rutgers guys are all assuming because they don't understand that elite programs always recruit elite talent. One of the Rutgers guys even said his crystal ball flip was a mistake.

I'm sure Florida coaches called him as did several others feeding him bs. They likely told him to follow their Twitter so they could DM him. Not a big deal besides we will need to stay on top of him.

I trust he and his dad have a great relationship and have been aware of this happening. Heck Hunter was here visiting the same day last time. JG should understand he is a great fit and elite talent in his own right. He can def beat out any of the QBs we have committed. If he doesn't believe that then we shouldn't want that anyway. He has something none of the others have and that's home run ability from anywhere on the field with his legs.

Oh and Flordia....all you have to do is look at the pathetic offense Nuss put together at Michigan to understand that would be a horrible and I mean horrible fit. He couldn't do jack with Devin Gardner

Just my opinion here, but this same scenario plays out almost every year.

Right now, we have a QB roster of Dobbs, Dormady and Jones. All 3 appear to have all the tools to play QB for us. In 2016, we will add Guarantano to that roster. We will have a senior starter and 3 underclassmen with little to no experience.

After today, we have added Hunter Johnson to that roster in 2017. He will join3 inexperienced QBS in battle for a starting spot. In the next year or two, we could add Dexter Lawrence in the 2018 class to the roster.

Does anyone seriously expect all of these QB's to stick around? Yeah, I hope and expect Guarantano to stick around. But, I fully expect that either he or Johnson will be gone by 2018. To be perfectly honest, I think Jones will be as well. I have a hard time, right now, not believing that Dormady will be our next QB after Dobbs.
