How I see QB working out over the next couple of years:
2017
Sr. Dobbs
So. Dormady
RsFr. Jones
Fr. Guarantano

2018
Jr. Dormady
RsSo. Jones
RsFr. Guarantano
Fr. Johnson

2019 (Jones transfer out)
Sr. Dormady
RsSo. Guarantano
RsFr. Johnson
Fr. Lawrence

2020
RsJr. Guarantano
RsSo. Johnson
RsFr. Lawrence
Fr. Random guy

2021 (Guarantano went to draft early)
RsJr. Johnson
RsSo. Lawrence
RsFr. Random 1
Fr. Random 2

Etc,etc,etc,etc
I think you're a year off on all of this. 2016 will be Dobbs' senior and Dormady's sophomore season. FWIW.

If HJ isn't afraid JG shouldn't be afraid. Take OSU for example. 1 stud moves to wr, 1 stud (who won the NC) will be a back up, and the other will start. All 3 will and have had glorious careers

The only thing I can think of is that FL is selling him on the fact that they didn't take a QB in 15, while we took 2. They have a QB committed for 16 and one for 17. I hope he doesn't back off his commitment to the good guys.

Hialeah said the reason McElwaine went olè on Sheriron was that he's a "dual-threat QB and doesn't fit the offense". :hmm:

I don't think JG is afraid of competition. Otherwise, he wouldn't have committed with Dormady, Jones, and Jennings in the class before. (For that matter, we even had Austin Kendall committed at one point last year, right?)

In recruiting anything can happen, but I have to think if you're a QB committing to a top program, you know you'll have to compete for the job. Top programs should be recruiting, on average, one top notch QB every year. And as we've seen in the past, there have been plenty of 4 and 5 star QBs that don't pan out.

Of our 5 QB commits and young QBs (Dormady, Jones, Jennings, JG, H. Johnson), it's likely that at least 1-2 don't pan out. And really, it's already looking like Jennings is more likely to take a Hines Ward like role.

Yeah...Jennings isn't one of "our young QBs" anymore. It's a Hines Ward role as in Pittsburgh Steelers.

I think that Guarantano is full of confience and is not afraid of competition. I don't know enough about Jones to make a similar statement. Johnson knows the QB situation and seems to not be afraid of competition either.
These are the type players championship teams need. Just tae a look at OSU and their roster of QBs. We will be bitting at everyone's tails for the next number of years . Those fans who are worried about recruiting the best players need to realize that one can never have too many great players with a positive attitude. Our fan base needs to improve their attitudes about recruiting.

I feel confident making 2 predictions about the QB position at UT for the next 6 years (assuming no major coaching changes or off the field hubbub):

1.) There will be attrition.

2.) Regardless of #1, our QB play will be fantastic.

JMO but if I were Guarantano, I would see the Johnson commit as a positive.

Helps recruit big time receivers, he knows he will have a good backup behind him and validates what he's been preaching about the Vols.

The TROLL has done their job. They've placed doubt in the minds of fans. Master Troll is sitting back smiling as their Vaseline coated fingers tap away on the keyboard.

Not worried butch has known Jarrett's father for a lonnnnngggg time. The relationship the family and Jarrett have with this staff would take a lot to overcome.

Here's my question, why would JG all the sudden be afraid of a quarterback whose a year behind him when he didn't seem to mind that we took 3 quarterbacks in the 2015 class? Three of those insiders who CB'd JG to Florida are still butthurt that he chose Tennessee over the Rutgers. I'm calling complete bull sh*t on this one.
