I think you're a year off on all of this. 2016 will be Dobbs' senior and Dormady's sophomore season. FWIW.How I see QB working out over the next couple of years:
2017
Sr. Dobbs
So. Dormady
RsFr. Jones
Fr. Guarantano
2018
Jr. Dormady
RsSo. Jones
RsFr. Guarantano
Fr. Johnson
2019 (Jones transfer out)
Sr. Dormady
RsSo. Guarantano
RsFr. Johnson
Fr. Lawrence
2020
RsJr. Guarantano
RsSo. Johnson
RsFr. Lawrence
Fr. Random guy
2021 (Guarantano went to draft early)
RsJr. Johnson
RsSo. Lawrence
RsFr. Random 1
Fr. Random 2
Etc,etc,etc,etc
The only thing I can think of is that FL is selling him on the fact that they didn't take a QB in 15, while we took 2. They have a QB committed for 16 and one for 17. I hope he doesn't back off his commitment to the good guys.
I don't think JG is afraid of competition. Otherwise, he wouldn't have committed with Dormady, Jones, and Jennings in the class before. (For that matter, we even had Austin Kendall committed at one point last year, right?)
In recruiting anything can happen, but I have to think if you're a QB committing to a top program, you know you'll have to compete for the job. Top programs should be recruiting, on average, one top notch QB every year. And as we've seen in the past, there have been plenty of 4 and 5 star QBs that don't pan out.
Of our 5 QB commits and young QBs (Dormady, Jones, Jennings, JG, H. Johnson), it's likely that at least 1-2 don't pan out. And really, it's already looking like Jennings is more likely to take a Hines Ward like role.

Here's my question, why would JG all the sudden be afraid of a quarterback whose a year behind him when he didn't seem to mind that we took 3 quarterbacks in the 2015 class? Three of those insiders who CB'd JG to Florida are still butthurt that he chose Tennessee over the Rutgers. I'm calling complete bull sh*t on this one.
