'16 OH OT Nathan Niehaus (UT Commit 1/1/16)

Gut feeling... He's somewhat interested in OSU, but being from there, that is the golden offer everyone wants. It's bragging rights for him to receive it, proof that he was good enough to achieve what everyone else covets, even if he chooses otherwise

Or, I could be full of it :)

Wouldn't surprise me.

My dad got offers from Marshall and South Carolina when he played football. He has mentioned them a couple of times, but never made a big deal about them. If he received an offer from Tennessee, on the other hand, I'm pretty sure I would've heard about it dozens, if not hundreds of times.

That said, if Niehaus receives an offer from Ohio State, it would make it much more difficult for us. Hoping Mahoney can sell him on his reputation for developing OTs. Niehaus is certainly a "project" in many ways, but a "project" with huge upside with the right coaching. I think our staff would be a perfect fit for him.

He won't have to play for at least 2 years.Plenty of time for him to develop.Would be nice to have a few of these ol and Dl that we don't have to rush on the field because they are not ready.

I agree with you. Develop lineman instead of depending on them as freshman. I think we're getting there.

Talked to a big booster at wvu and he said they have lost him to ut and they have pretty much moved on to some kids from md/pa to replace him

probably PA, since MD has that entire state locked down thi$ year. and im just curious as to what 'big booster' means at WVU. does that mean they have a shell built around their doublewide? and carport for their Camaro? apologies, i couldnt resist. i have good friends that graduated from there.
