'16 SC RB Tavien Feaster

Feast mode is such a cool nickname.

Clemson is out of their element.

Not to mention we have the allure of playing in the SEC. Not a bad benefit. The last couple of years with Butch we've reeled in most players who came away from visits gleaming like this.

I like this. I like this a lot. It's pretty fun watching Clemson squirm. Keep those tidbits coming.

This is another case that if we have the year we are all hoping we can have, the big fish shall be reeleth in.

Not that I care what Clemson fans think about Tennessee, but winning 9-10 games this year would go a long way towards dispelling the notion that the Vols are doomed to be forever mediocre.

In before he reaffirms with Clemson.

Until he de commits nothing to see here other than recruiting site propaganda.

Absolutely I just love how much they squirm when recruits come away happy at visits. They start name calling and acting now like children. Clemson is still in good position for the kid but we are working our way back into it. Butch will get him

To be fair, there's also "nothing to see" even with verbal commitments. Nothing matters until the LOI is signed.

We've almost been identical to how FSU got back

You can tell by the amount of misplaced, clueless hatred in their posts that they are worried...and they should be.

Beat OSU in an Orange Bowl while also losing 70-33 to WVU as well. They have had a better decade than we have but the last 7-10 years has been there best stretch since 1980s to early 90s. Also only 1 Acc Championship.

Set a record for the most points allowed in the Orange Bowl. Almost beat Florida State without their QB. Routinely recruits top 15 classes and has the illustrious title of Second Best of the ACC.

To be fair, they have beaten UGA, LSU, and SC in recent years.

Annnnddddd West Virginia just scored...again.

They've kind of been like an ACC version of UGA. Have had some good players come through, and some good seasons, but some really bad and head scratching losses.

Forgot about that Orange bowl game. Thanks guys. Granted, they've been better, but they don't have a whole lot to show for it. Just like UGA as you said volamite.

FSU was down only briefly, though, and they were still making bowl games and winning 7-9 games even during their lean years.

Closest comparison for Tennessee is either Notre Dame during the Charlie Weis era or Michigan during the Rich Rod/Hoke era.

I actually think Tennessee may have had the longest and worst down stretch in modern CFB history. 5 losing seasons in a 7 year stretch is just brutal for a program of this magnitude.

At least Michigan had a BCS bowl win under Hoke and Bama had a few 10 win seasons during their lean years.

They act like they are Alabama and have 3 NC in 6 years or something. Since 2007, out last good year, they have been to as many Confernece championship games as we have. One. Yes they have had good success the past 6 years but in between 1990s and 2007 they didn't do much of anything. Only won 9 games I think 3-4 times in those 15 years or so and we had 9 times out of 15 years double digit win seasons.

I can't wait for football to get here. Will be great

That's just wrong. LSU had 8 losing seasons between 1989-1999 including 6 in a row from '89-'94 and a 2-9 season in 1992. They also fired 3 coaches during that stretch.

This is true. But you have to think FSU (when they were down) would have had similar records as us if they were playing our schedule. This is also the reason we may not just immediately shoot to the moon even though we are back. For us, "getting back" is really just getting on even playing level with about 6 or 7 other top schools in the SEC. It's going to always be a grind even when we are awesome. FSU was able to immediately see the fruits of their labor on their way back because they play at least 7 or 8 games every year against teams that cant possibly stack up with their level of talent. Just like Ohio State.

Okay...lol....they did play with helmets in the 90's though. The forward pass was even legal too.

I know but usually the BCS is seen as an era and then the older years. Then you have the CFP which will be seen as an era of football. Just how it is.

A guy on Tigernet who either is an insider of some sort or at least has Tavien's phone number posted this:

"Ok I've spent the last several hours on the phone with, um, interested parties. As you know, Tavien and his dad took a visit to Tennessee and he spoke glowingly about the visit. Not a good situation, at least on the surface.

But....I've done a lot of talking and texting, and I've heard the momma is "hot" about everything that has happened and I've also heard that Clemson's coaches still feel really good about Feaster. In fact, the hope is that they can get Tavien and his mother on campus this week and help settle things down. This appears to be a reactionary trip to something that has nothing to do with Clemson, and while it bears watching, I still think this is all Clemson."

and later on this:

"I've been texting with Tavien, and he said he is still good with Clemson. And for those of you who have been worrying, let me say this: I think I will be able to run a story early next week that should settle everybody down. Just trust me on this one. "

Sorry if someone else already posted this. Seems like he is someone who generally brings their board good info. Seems like this whole situation depends on Butch getting Tavien and Mother in for an official visit.

"Still good with Clemson" is a lot different than saying i'm still 100% committed to Clemson and you guys have nothing to worry about.

I'm still good with Taco Bell, but that doesn't mean I'm eating there tonight.

It's a long shot but we'll see. It's be pretty awful if we miss on Stevenson (just did) Holyfield, Feaster, Emmons, CFA, and Walker.

Still a long way to go though.

It's not a long shot.

Probably 35-65 or 40-60 UT-CU right now. Need to get him on an OV with momma and lock it down.
