I don't think you understand the implications of being a fan since birth.
Many of us were born Tennessee fans, and if we were players, we'd never go anywhere else no matter the situation.
That's kind of where Tavien is at. He was born and bread to be a clemson fan and it just happens to be that he's the best running back of 2016.
I'm not saying we CAN'T get him. We can, and spartanburg radio is wary of us doing so as I've stated before. But some of you guys are a little too confident in us just grabbing him right before NSD. It's not that simple with kids who have been fans their entire lives.
Sidenote: I elected to stay home and go to a local college instead of USCe just because I wanted to stay a season ticket holder at UT and be close enough to drive on weekends. Lol.
Don't think I need a lecture on being a "real fan" as I travel from Miami for games.
As for Feaster, despite ones allegiance, one has to put himself in the best position to succeed. To potentially settle on a program because you are "real fan" is foolish.
If the team is poised to make a run, get you best trained for the next level, and will help get you name recognition you take it.
A certain young man #16 says hi.
Think his name was manning?!?
Last I heard he left home and did alright for himself.
In Butch I trust!
Clemson isn't 1990's Ole Miss. They're national contenders more so than we are at this point in time.
Fla st will have something to say about that.
They beat Clemson last year without Winston.
Point still stands you go where your talent will be best displayed- overall that means SEC and a team on the rise.
If we pull the heat we look like we might be pulling he would be insane not to jump onboard.
Such a homer statement.
"A 7-6, previous 4 straight seasons of going 5-7 Tennessee team is better than a perennial 10-win Clemson team."
That's just not the case right now and you know it. He knows it. The world knows it. It would be a testament to how good Butch is at selling a program's potential to get Feaster..
But if we're going on who has the biggest chance to showcase his talent on a championship level right now? It's Clemson.

Same level of starting talent, maybe.
They have more depth than us, though.

You completely missed his point discussing fandom. Don't know how you read that and "got a lecture on being a real fan".
No I get his point.
I just don't agree with him.
I am a UT fan since birth. I remember sitting outside the stadium as a child when the hill where the parking lot is was still grass in the mid 70's.
I would still go elsewhere if it gave me the best opportunity to succeed.
Tennessee has a greater upside the next 5 years period.
If he believes Clemson is so much better that Feaster should go there then he can go Clemson games and watch their team.
If he is lucky enough to play the vols come playoffs, I'll be on the opposite side wearing the correct shade of orange watching my team kick their tails.
That's how I see it.
Or there are kids who go to a school regardless of how crappy they are because it's their dream. Much like a lot of our TN guys who've jumped on in the last 3-5 years.
I just moved into USCe. It's going to be tough to tell my friends I'm going to watch the tennessee games over going to the USC onesI don't think you understand the implications of being a fan since birth.

I'm not going to go round and round with this.
To me it's simple-
The volunteers have out recruited Clemson during jones' tenure. With another cycle looking fairly spectacular I see no reason to believe otherwise in 2015.
If Feaster wants to surround himself with a more talented group on both sides of the ball to get more wins and a better shot at playoffs, then he needs to bring his talent to Knoxville.
If he wants to stick close to home I wouldn't blame him. I will think he made a poor decision, and honestly believe will have squandered an opportunity.
If that's his dream, have at it.
I would rather line up with UT the next five years than against us.
His dream, his decision.... You get what you ask for.
It seems as though you just dropped into this thread. It's not about fandom or who has the bigger upside or even how good is Butch's recruiting. If you look back a few pages you'll see that Clemson has been building relationships with this kid and his family for four years. His mother, in particular, is sold on Clemson.
Yes, he had a great trip to UT and we turned his head. His mother was not there. If we get her to come with him for an OV we're in business but he will have to decommit to do that because of Clemson's policy.
Butch has done a great job here but Clemson has had a huge head start. On top of that Feaster was told he would be the only RB we would take. After he left UT and Clemson got back in his ear we took a commitment from CFA. That was us saying 'we gave it our best shot, you're a good kid, we'd love to have you but we can't wait around on the chance you flip'. This one is over until he brings his mother on an OV. That's just fact.
