"I feel like Tennessee is the school for me," Middleton said. "To be honest, I just love UT. That's the school I want to go to and there is no other school I'd rather be at."

"The coaches aren't just there for sport," Middleton said. "I think they will help me out through school. The facility is something I've never seen before. It's just an amazing place. I want to be at a school that will benefit me and from what I've seen, Tennessee is that place."

"At this point I like both," Middleton said. "Defense wins game and I like hitting so if I was going to pick on then I'd say defense. I love to make a big hit. To hear that crowd go crazy after you get the quarterback, it's awesome. I love to get after it."

"That's something I want to do," Middleton said. "Right now, I'm working, working, working. I want to be a factor in every game. I want to catch passes in every game and try to score in every game. On defense I want to get 12-13 tackles every game. I'm always working to improve."

im stoked about this commit. hes massive and still has 3 more years to grow before he graduates. and he hits hard and his tape is nasty for a freshman

Every class needs stud Tennessee kids committing early to set the tone. In this case I am stoked. Darel can be molded into the player with the S&C that he wants to be and they need him to be. I hope that he chooses to be a Big Orange Clowney version 2.0.

I've been wanting to pull the trigger to be honest," Middleton told InsideTennessee.

"It was beautiful up there and the coaches are awesome. The teammates look like they get along just great. It just seemed like something that would benefit me and that's what I want. I want something that's going to benefit me," Middleton said.

"That's going to be awesome," Middleton said. "Actually, to be honest, this spring I asked the coaches if I could go put on a uniform. (Jones) laughed just like you did."

"I can't wait. I can't wait to talk to him in the morning. It just seemed like every time I've talked to him I've known this man since I've been living. We just get along like best friends like we've been knowing each other for the longest. He's a great person."

Michigan, Mississippi State (both sports), Ole Miss, South Carolina and USC were some of the top schools sending the Volunteer State standout letters and information about their programs.

"Those letters have been put up in a box," Middleton said. "They're at the bottom of the box."

Over 2 and a half years until his signing day and we have a great building block to form our class around! Boom!!!!!
