I'm hearing that he cussed the coaches and walked off and quit the basketball team yesterday. Also, has told the football coaches he is not going to play defense and is telling his friends that he is going to transfer to Fulton.

I know you have warned us about him before. I see three possibilities here.

1. Headfootballcoach has accurate information on Middleton, and he is warning Volnation not to get to emotionally invested in a guy that UT may later have to divest themselves from.

2. Headfootballcoach unknowingly has false information that he is passing along that he heard from someone else.

3. Headfootball coach has some personal reason not to like Middleton.

The good thing is that we have two years to observe Middleton and see if he's a keeper or if we need to throw him back. I believe the coaches will follow his progress and make a good decision.

Very true! I was my most rebellious at 14 and most likely to mouth off to others. It took a couple of years and some of God's grace, but I eventually came around to the idea that there was a better way to get along with others. Hopefully, Daryl will learn the same, if he is having those kind of problems.

I'm not sure on the accuracy of the other rumors on Middleton. But the Middleton to Fulton talk is valid.

He has been in contact with Fulton for awhile now.

I checked your post out and it looks pretty much true.

After talking to several people it seems a lot of the current players will be happy if he moves on to Fulton. Not only is his attitude a problem, but grades could be an issue too.

I don't know the kid, but I heard this from people I trust. I wish him well, but from what I heard I will be surprised if he ends up a Vol. I hope I am wrong. Hate to see a kid this size wasted it.

Check my post history please. I am not one one of the stupid 'Gruden' posters. I dreaded posting what I did, but after triple checking with people in the Powell football program I believe some of worries about him are legit. I can't speak about the basketball part, I only asked about what they knew.

Only thing I can say for sure is these 3 people did say that. Also realize 3 years is long time to get your head on straight. So there is always hope.

He has been in HS for 2 semesters. Grades can't be a "problem" as far as college is concerned.

I kinda am one of those stupid Gruden posters & I also live in powell & have kids in high school that play sports. While I havent personally seen anything nor do I know the young man I have heard similar things about him as well. Lets hope for him that whatever the truth is, he can mature & take advantage of his opportunites he has been blessed with.

Just have to put this out there. Isn't he just going into his sophomore year? So, he's 16, maybe? It's the class of 2016. Let this thin play out before you all pass judgment based on some second-hand BS.

So because it's not what people wanna hear its second hand BS? These are people who live in Powell...if they were reporting something good, I hardly think it would be viewed as second hand info. People would take it and run.

I went to school with this kid he is struggling in school hopefully he can get it turned around going to be a good player

True! The truth is he has that attitude I love. He will either use that attitude to be a beast or it will get him into trouble. He's a freak athlete and just needs the right coaches to control it in the right way. Dooley would never be able to do this, but Butch can. Lets hope his high school coaches can teach him this until he gets here. He loves the Vols and talks trash to anyone who doesn't .

Please, not the whole "he is still young, don't pass judgment, 2nd-hand BS" angle.

I know VN has all kinds of rumors & BS constantly posted, but in some cases people actually DO have legitimate information. Especially, in this case. Middleton plays at a local Knoxville HS and VN obviously has tons of Knoxville-based members.

Just because the information isn't positive, doesn't mean it needs to be immediately jumped on & labeled BS.

I want Middleton to be successful & ultimately sign with UT just like all Vol fans do. And I believe he will. Not a bad kid & will be a great football prospect. He is just young.

But the recent concerns/information discussed in this thread are accurate. It is has been thoroughly and openly discussed amongst players & coaches from both Powell High School (where Middleton attends) & Fulton High School. These stories DO have merit. But Middleton is a great football player & will be a great Vol.
