'16 TN ATH JoeJuan Williams

So are you saying you are not for anyone trying to better themselves or make a better spot for their family? And who do you think is equal to him on the field? I will wait for your response.

That's fine if he leaves, I'm not mad at all. Martin and Gaulden can be as good or better.

Ok sorry I didn't know. Haven't read all that much about him or if he sees himself playing one position. I would've checked his own thread but it's also really long like this one.

Mecole is an insane talent. He wants to play defense as that is where his pro ceiling is there just aren't that many pro-wideouts his size. But he's so dynamic and flipping fast it's hard not to like him on O. I think we would try him at both and tell him whatever he wants to hear. I think he's in the top 3 on the staffs wish list.

Terry fair has nothing to do with 12 being terrible. The DL not getting pressure is what stands out most...

You're kidding right?the kid turns full 360s instead of opening up his hips and making a play on the ball. Our pass rush is not what ppl thought it would be but they're getting push and making a difference. When 12 and 13 try man press coverage they're beat immediately and never recover. Pass rush and coverage go hand in hand. If the routes or timing is not disrupted then that also hurts the pass rush and vice versa. So please don't discount bad techniques from all of our dbs. This includes taking bad angles in open field etc. While in the NFL and at UT T. Fair was known as one of the most technical dbs around and in his time here at UT as a coach he help guys like Coleman and Cam get much better and that came from their mouths.

Kidding about? 12 is bad regardless. I don't think Willy Martinez is a bad coach.. But suggesting the group is struggling solely because fair is gone is hard to believe.. There are various reasons why they have been bad

I can see where one great coach could make that big a difference and that is not a knock on CWM. Fair was a great player and has the knowledge. It's like a coach in basketball that is great at teaching shooting. He may not be as good in other areas but great at that. He can make a bigger difference for a shooter than a coach that is actually better at knowing the entire game but the other is a specialist. Fair could flat out play DB and it appears he was a great communicator and coach. Not all players are good coaches. Would really like to get him back here somehow.

Look man Fair is and was the footwork / technique guy. Former guys from UGA have dogged Martinez to me and Buck Fitzgerald when he was hired. He recruits well but isn't a very technical guy. He's per say just a decent coach. But he could definitely benefit from better play upfront from the DL

Sounds like we need T Fair to be our DB coach. Performance on the field this year suggests it may be warranted.

Willie Martinez is not a good position coach nor coordinator. He is a good recruiter which I guess is why Butch keeps him around
DB's require so much coaching, I would argue they require more than any other position on defense. He aint gettin it done

Last year, praising Martinez and DB's look great.

This year, sacks/TFL's are significantly down, but it must be Fair leaving. Has to be

I'm not saying Martinez is a great coach either. I'm only stating that you can't say pass rushing isn't a huge factor. Plenty of times Moseley and Foreman's technique was bad last year; the offense didn't have all day to expose it like they have recently
