I'm not saying Martinez is a great coach either. I'm only stating that you can't say pass rushing isn't a huge factor. Plenty of times Moseley and Foreman's technique was bad last year; the offense didn't have all day to expose it like they have recently

. IMO the difference is Coleman to Foreman at nickel more than anything. We are getting quite a bit of push at times and so close to sacks but not covering long enough. If we have Gaulden, I'd bet our sack numbers would be higher. There is a reason this staff didn't want Foreman on the field last year if it didn't have to. If it was all about what Fair was teaching why would the kids not use what he taught them? Is t that the point you learn a trick and use it moving forward. You don't just stop using it because he leaves.

Great point! :hi:

Well no matter the cause I think we can all agree that the secondary has not lived up to the potential.

Bingo.

Sure, he's been thrown at, but not at nearly the rate as Moseley and Foreman.

That last play wasn't thrown "at Cam", so much as it was thrown out of desperation to a WR who was simply the most open with no time on the clock. Cam wasn't a "target" on that play.

They threw to their Best player. Hilarious how our fans don't think he's playing well. Dude is in a green jersey every week and still is balling. To say he doesn't compare to VH3 is laughable. VH3 is playing soft and the other CBs Tabor and Wilson look better than him. Wilson was the one who shut down Treadwell not VH3. Watch VH3 this week versus LSU. He'll be attacked again and he'll lose the matchup.

I think you mean Lambert not Ramsey. I don't disagree that the play was designed to go to Mitchell, nor do I disagree that Mitchell had beaten Cam several times on the day. I just don't think that Cam was being "picked on" necessarily on the final play. Lambert just went to his go-to WR in a clutch moment of the game. Our best CB is covering their best WR in that situation.

I'm not standing the gap for Cam either, just to be clear. I have made it clear that I think he has regressed some from last year, and in no way do I think he belongs in the same tier as VH3, Ransey, or Alexander.

Did you watch Ramsey Saturday? He got killed by some dude from Miami. I saw two passes on Cam in man coverage on Mitchell. 2 catches period all game were on him. What do you want?

Alexander is the only one truly mauling WRs. The others aren't destroying guys like they did last year.

Funny how against Oklahoma that Baker Mayfield was running for his life. The secondary was covering for a while on a group of good WRs. Who's fault was it that Mayfield found a WR open after 7 seconds of covering a guy? They did that a lot in that game. Guess Martinez wasn't coaching them then...... When Martin plays well I want to see who coached him up. Because Fair didn't touch this kid coaching wise.

I don't think it's "our" fans thinking this way as much as a couple of fans who hang on every word a particular person says when he comes in here with his supposed infinite knowledge.

Dude it's funny to think Sutton is having a down year because he's avoided more than he was last year. If he was so second tier teams wouldn't even gameplan around avoiding him. Lambert threw to a damn good player in Mitchell. Dude won 2 battles all game versus Cam. They were matched up a lot. If he was getting burned why not keep attacking him? They couldn't that's why. That's why #81 had a big day. You can't keep attacking a dude like Sutton even with him being hurt.

Yep. My feelings exactly. Of course he doesn't have the numbers he had last year. He is being game planned around and avoided this year. There's a reason for it. He's good.

I'll assume it was the Mitchell TD and the final play that you remember. Cam was in position both times, and Mitchell made a great grab on the TD, and likely would have made one on the final play if not for Randolph breaking it up. Cam was in position to make a play both times, but didn't. But Mitchell is a really good WR too.

Lambert wasn't picking on Cam. He was just going to his best WR to give him a chance to make a play. I think we agree on that much.

I'm not saying Cam's garbage, but I don't think he's clearly a 1st rounder either RIGHT NOW. The combine could sway his draft spot up or down, but so far, he has a better Soph. highlight reel than JR reel right now.

He's clearly hurt to me. You can tell the Florida game for sure. The first two games he was balling. This past game you could tell he was getting closer to 100%. He ran down Michel and punched the ball out. I look forward to seeing him get his first pick next weekend. :)

I agree with you guys on Cam, he is just fine imo. I'd like to see what that BGSU WR Lewis's #'s are this year against Cam compared to against everyone else. I don't remember seeing him catch more than a ball or two against us and every game since it seems like he has 10 catches and close to 200 yards.

Thank you. The hate for Martinez is getting ridiculous.

Me too. And his 2nd and 3rd. :)

Yup. The Fair thing is ridiculous as well.

Martinez was developing Pro Bowl and All SEC DBs well before adding Terry Fair. He helped but that's just madness to think he can't coach CBs. Funny how Foreman is improving. Kid stopped a lot of short routes. He needs help over the top but he's at the least improving in man coverage. Should've had a for sure pick and was in position for another one. Terry Godwin who he was on most of the game is good.

Foreman has some stuff to work on (most young DBs do), but I can see a good corner there.

Mosley on the other hand.....

Mosley is azz..... Dude is scary....

Foreman has the attitude for sure. Going to be hard pressed to keep that job next year though. Abernathy and Gaulden are direct competition. But he's at the least improving and in position more often than not. He didn't whiff on that drop either. That's a fast WR on a post in the slot. He should've had safety help. Cover 0 is BS on a route like that. Deep post from one hash mark to the other.

I don't hate Martinez but do you guys think Fair didn't help at all. Stat wise and it is not a pure apples to apples but CSU HAS 9 interceptions to our 4 and 201 net passing to our 250 so their DB's doing decent so far.

CSU is playing trash competition too..... Martin being at the other CB will help tremendously. IMO

Plus, if our guys just catch the ball we would have more like 7 or 8 picks at least. We dropped 2 easy picks against UGA, and I believe Foreman had another ball hit his hands earlier in the year. There have been chances for Int's, and I think we will start cashing in after the bye.

I'm baffled at how you continue to call Moseley trash and make excuses for Foreman. I haven't seen any improvement out of Foreman at all. He had a ball thrown right at his numbers and couldn't even come up with a turnover and, safety help or not, he almost let UGA make a comeback because he couldn't run with a true freshman (who happens to be Isaiah McKenzie's backup).

Moseley hasn't been very good either, but he's been close to making some plays. He was in on the hit that took out Chubb, he broke on a ball and almost had an INT (one that wasn't simply tossed to him) and he plays well on special teams when he gets a chance. Arkansas would have scored on a fake FG if he hadn't strung out the man trying to block him.

The fact is that neither have played very well. But you obviously have some pro-Foreman agenda. You've been riding his crotch even since last year saying how much potential he has and talking about his "attitude." But the fact of the matter is he's just not a very good football player right now and we haven't seen him be a good football player yet.
