'16 TN OL Bryce Mathews (Ole Miss commit)

If we do miss there are 2 elite OTs in state next year so we will be ok. I still want him though because it's nice to have versatile lineman

FWIW, our main recruiting guys still feel like Tenn is the team to beat.

Who knows though. We've definitely made him a huge priority, as our remaining board is not near as full as yours. Guess we'll all find out fairly soon.

“It was just kind of different just because there really wasn’t a whole lot of football about it,” he told InsideTennessee. “It was kind of a get-together to socialize and play games and talk. It was a fun experience. I was glad I was able to go and spend time with the guys.”

“Tennessee’s definitely one of the top schools I’m considering. They haven’t made any pressure or any push to try to make me commit any time soon,” Mathews said. “I kind of told them I would like to make my decision before my senior year starts if at all possible so I can focus on playing football and I don’t have to worry about the recruiting side of things.”

“I guess I’ll probably really end up making a decision next month, but obviously that decision is what I want to do so I have to make sure I’m 100 percent about it,” he said.

Friday meaning today?

sportstalksc: Fri 12:10am #STRecruiting: OL Bryce Mathews tells us he will announce his college decision Friday between 10-11 AM Eastern. Clemson, Ole Miss & UT.

Hubbs just said Tennessee isn't in an "enviable" position with Mathews and that Ole Miss and Clemson lead.

Hubbs: He gone.

Hopefully to Clemson. Is it wrong that I automatically assume that there's foul play involved when a kid not from Mississippi commits to a MS school? Ha

Personally, I blame GFW for all this. He leaves the country, and what happens? Emmons to Bama, Holyfield and Hardeman leaning pups, Joc suspended, Big Charles arrested, Matthews leaning Ole Miss...sky is falling!

Come back soon, GFW! :)

Per Hubbs

Several have asked about Nashville offensive lineman Bryce Mathews the last few days and while he's gone quiet since his last visit the vibes around the four-star tackle are that Clemson and Ole Miss are the two teams emerging as the frontrunners.

A recent Clemson visit has the Tigers with some momentum, but he also has a strong relationship with those at Ole Miss.

We're not ready to count out Tennessee by any means, but from what we've heard they aren't in an enviable spot as of late this week.

It's weird that anyone would choose to live there. This is surprising and seems like a recent development. I dunno....
