He informed Tennessee coach*Butch Jones staff of his decision Friday night.
I Skyped him last night, and the whole coaching staff was there, and everybody was really excited, Johnson said. That was pretty cool. Everybody was clapping. I mean, they were unbelievably excited.
Johnson visited the Vols a half-dozen times in a span of a little more than four months, and he said he quickly realized that Tennessee is home to me, and it just felt like the right choice.
Definitely, I like the coaching staff, said Johnson, who has been told that he will play offensive tackle for the Vols. That was one of my favorite things.*Coach Mo (offensive line coach*Don Mahoney) in particular, I really liked him, and I really liked how he coaches.
He admitted hes already excited about his future at Tennessee and the direction of the program under Jones staff.
I think the programs going to be improving this year, especially with the recruiting class that they got for 2014. I think thats really important. I think theyre going to make a huge difference, Johnson said.
Before my careers over, Im going to be putting rings on my fingers.
