'16 TN WR Nate Johnson

Committed to Michigan.

VQ mods hinted he was down the list at WR. Probably didn't sit well with Nate and he committed elsewhere. It happens. Good luck to the young man.

What realistic targets are above him on the list? We likely aren't getting Hardman or Corley so this kid looks like a better take than a last minute offer.

Velus Jones then there are a couple guys with some versatility that the coaches like, such as Marquez Callaway and Willie Johnson

Not trying to sound negative, but we aren't close to locks to get Velus or Callaway. Velus likes OU a lot and Callaway is still heavily in play with several SEC schools.

Willie Johnson isn't near the route runner or WR that Nate Johnson is currently. He may be faster but he is extremely raw.

I trust that Butch is making the right decisions, but we've seen these in state players passed over that we would love to have later.

Are you an insider? If not, how do you know this? Maybe the coaches have more information than what is on VQ.

We are going to struggle recruiting WRs until we prove that we can get them the ball. No doubt Harbaugh reminded Johnson of that.

You asked for realistic targets, not for locks. Callaway (WR,DB) and Johnson (Slot, KR/PR) can play multiple positions which is why I called them versatile. And Johnson named us his leader recently so I'd say if the coaches want him then we have a pretty good shot.

I understand sometimes have to make business decision, but how can someone who grew up a fan, not even take visit here first?

How big of a "fan" is he though? His dad is a Purdue grad and it was said somewhere in here that he's a military kid. Unless his dad was stationed at Ft. Campbell his entire career, which isn't likely given where they currently live, he likely grew up all over the country.

Never claimed to be an insider smart guy. Jones is 50/50 at best as he likes OU a lot. Callaway has seemed to be slow playing us the entire recruiting cycle.

I'm just having some healthy conversation around the WR recruiting, or lack there of. Seems like a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush. Just MO.

I'm not sure why any highly rated WR would come here right now. Maybe BJ could tell a future WR that once Dobbs graduates, we'll put someone in there that can accurately throw the ball.

dont mean shat, if you cant see he has accuracy issues right now then go on believing whatever you want, makes no difference to me, but would love all you guys permission to discuss it with like minded persons concerned with the overall improvement of our football team

I saw more sure touchdowns dropped this year than any before it. The way offense works, you can't just blame every incompletion on Dobbs accuracy.

I don't remember a year where we have had almost all of our starting recievers hurt. Those injuries along with our young inexperienced receivers have affected our passing game more than anything else has. With Butch's offense there will be years where we are really good at running the ball and years where we are good at passing the ball. It's a true multiple offense. Our philosophy will have no impact on our recruiting. Other teams adjust to their strengths. Last week Bama ran the ball over 40 times.

I'm sure you know better than Butch Jones. Please let him know what you think oh great one. I'd hate for our coach not to know its better to have a bits in the hand than two in the bush.

UT had a better passing game than auburn and they have better qb committed for the next few years but auburn has three of the best highschool wide recievers in the country either committed or lead for the commitment.in davis, stove and nate craig meyers.i dont understand why recruits pick certain teams
