'17 AL LB Will Ignont (UT commit 10/26/2016)

Honest question!..I feel like our linebackers are speedy linebackers small not really big but can get to the edge this guy looks like a AJ run stopper type of linebacker ,not really fast ,do you all think he will strive in our defense scheme at line backer considering he doesn't look as fast as our current linebackers and I know reps, playing time and gym time will change once he gets here just curious as to what you all think but I'll never turn away a 4*

I think he will do fine in our scheme

We have a SCHEME?

I'd say we've either missed on some linebackers or we're not developing inexpensive linebackers. We've recruited well from a rankings perspective but they aren't developing or they've been moved to DE. Sapp was supposed to be a real contributor his year and he's lost for the season. Bituli is supposed to be the next Kirkland.

So a torn ACL is due to a lack of development?

Not as fast as Jumper? :eek:lol:

lol now people are going to started *****ing about Shoop and his injury plagued defense. Might as well fire the whole coaching staff.

That's what you'd call a caveat in regards to Sapp. There are other linebacker recruits that can't seem to see the field.

We mostly only play 2 LBs at a time.

Jumper has played all year.

Kirkland has been injured nearly all year.
Reeves-Maybin injured nearly all year.
Sapp out for the year.

Cortez McDowell has played a lot - injured at A&M. Elliot Berry has played. Dillon Bates has played.

Other than Gavin Bryant I've got no idea who all these LBs that aren't playing are - please make a list.

Kids know especially at Bama, you are not going to break the 2 deep in most cases except for a year or so at the most at LB. If he wants to play early and alot, hard to see him getting more PT anywhere else except The Hill.
