100 in each fall and 100-200 more each summer is 600-1000 more ABs in 3 years of college. That's the 2-3 years of ABs worth in the minor leagues so hell yes that is big.

Has absolutely nothing to do with this draft. I am talking about why he needs 3 years of college. He is a raw athlete that hasn't hit for scouts against good competion. This is why he is a 3-10 round guy now. If he hits SEC pitching 3 years from now he is a first rounder and a rich guy. He needs as many ABs to get there and that is why he shouldn't play football IMO.

Keytaon Thompson a 6'4" 225 pound 4* currently committed to Mississippi state. If we could flip him to us... Wow. Kid is really talented, and he's big and athletic as a QB.

I don't disagree with the notion you should play baseball and not football if you're a "can't miss" guy but those are few. If he hasn't proven he can hit yet, he's high risk. Should keep his options open for football or take the 3rd round pay day and bust his ass for the big check. Not focus on college baseball.

May never but he is a hell of a prospect with a decent payday now if he choose to sign and a pot of gold out here if he succeeded as a hitter in the SEC.

The chances of him hitting go way down if he plays football. That's my entire point

I am using the can't hit tag loosely. If he is a top 10 round HS kid already he can hit. I am just saying it's the tool keeping him from the first round now.

I don't know anything about the kid. I'm rejecting the premise of him being unable to get ABs. I also doubtful he magically learns to hit in college. If he goes to college, focuses on baseball, and DOESN'T hit, he walks away from all of this with nothing.

Sign now or play both. It's not going to hurt him in baseball if he's willing to put in the work.

Cage work is great.

Worthless was strong when talking about live ABs inside. It's just not as good outside in a game setting. Hopefully that is better.

I've followed the baseball draft pretty extensively for awhile now.

Talking about where a guy is projected in November doesn't mean much.

Agreed but if the kid won't commit to saying he won't sign with the MLB then we shouldn't risk this one because of him being a legit draft prospect.

You beat me to it. When Ron posted that I was thinking this guy is already committed to Miss State. Might be hard to get him to flip. Miss State is much closer to his homestate of Louisiana but you never know.

I'm all for either Urich to flip from USCe to UT or get Hooker to just commit myself. Thompson(Kaytaon) is no doubt the better QB of the 4 we're after but a harder task in my opinion getting flipped to UT.

We have Bubba(Thompson), Hooker, Urich, & now this other Thompson kid as possibilities but I'd take Urich first over them all if we couldn't get Keytaon Thompson flipped to UT.

Of course, we'd have to get Urich flipped to from USCe to UT as well in order to get him but I think we have a much better chance in that happening than getting the other Thompson kid flipped from Miss State.

To your second paragraph, I personally dont care whats mutually exclusive and whats not on a internet message board. I honestly dont know what will happen with the team next year. One day I might think we will be much better, the next day I might think we will be worse. Its called uncertainty and mind changing. It happens. Get over it. I am one of the few that thought the "best staff in America" was coach speak and nothing more. I never took it literally. If you did, well thats on you. Who knows what Butch will do next year? Can you say with any certainty what will happen next year?

Having a lot of ambiguous feelings about the future of UT football under Butch Jones does not make you a ***** though.
