There is a stark difference between pulling for your team to lose and seeing the benefit of losing.

I see the benefit of the Bears losing this season, we aren't making the playoffs and losing gives us a better draft pick. However, I will NEVER root for the Bears to lose an actual game.

Dooley losing to Vanderbilt ended up being a benefit to the program, but I sure as heck were rooting for the Vols during that game.

I think it is black and white for me. I can understand, to some degree, but I cannot make myself hope that we lose. Even if I think it might be better for us in the long run. Who knows? We may have fired Dooley anyway or waited another year and gotten someone better than Butch. I like Butch a lot, but because we do not know what the future will bring after a win or loss, I always want to win.

The hottest might be Jalen McKenzie, the four-star OL from Clayton Valley Charter. McKenzie could be leaning toward Tennessee, where he would join his brother, Kahlil. But it’s not certain that Jalen has received an offer. Arizona State, Maryland, UCLA and Utah have offered, however, according to the recruiting sites. So has Miami.

Who has him listed as a 4 star? I've only seen 3s for him

Depending on if we get other commits he might not be a blue-shirt. If we can fit him in this class we should, instead of taking a spot in next years class

If you'll get a petition going, I want to be the first to sign!! I am so sick of these so called fans getting on here and berating the coach and recruits that do not meet their so called standards!!

If these guys don't think it hurts the program in the long run, they are crazy!!

I can't believe we have a fan who hopes we lose because it means the coach is a failure and he (the fan) is vindicated. Perhaps the dumbest thing I have ever seen on the board and I have seen some dumb things. How self-centered must you be to think that way?

I've read a few threads that mentioned Jalen as the perfect candidate for a blue shirt. Does anyone, with inside information, believe this is where we go with Jalen?

I think he is just showing his brother some love. I don't agree with everything he says, and I am sure CBJ does not like this tweet. He has played very well when he has been healthy. He does not make a lot of tackles, but he does take up two blockers, which is what you need your DT to do.

I agree. He just doesn't seem like a guy that is focused. He doesn't seem to have that "Derrick Barnett" killer mindset.

It's not like our staff skepticism and delay is not warranted. I understand he is a legacy but I wouldn't take him over any of our current commits on OL and we don't have room for another one. He had little film until we already had a set board. Enjoy the offers you get and don't get mad over the ones you dont
