'17 CA DT/OL Jalen McKenzie

How many instate or legacy players do they have down at Ole Miss?

Have no idea don't follow ole Miss. Born in Mt. Juliet TN. Got my degrees in TN then moved to Fl for work.

Don't let that stop your baseless accusations.

He's definitely coming here in my opinion. Either as a blueshirt or just as a walk on (I doubt walk on but you never know). His dad can certainly pay for it. I think that's why you haven't seen him take an official here or anything like that, so he could blueshirt.

Any possibility either his dad or Eric Berry can pay for him to walk on?

It has already been said that Eric will pay for his tuition for at least the first two years. Please read thread before making unnecessary comments.

Eric Berry and Peyton Manning have both already agreed on paying for 3 players scholarships a piece so we can go 6 over as of now. Those numbers are subject to change.

He will be a Vol if given the offer. Aaaand I think he will get the offer. Brick by brick by brick.

Bumping this just for the username..I remember thinking Matt Milton was going to be a monster at UT. Ted Meline as well.

Plus Darick & Hunter in the same class. Pretty disgusting WR haul.

Have you read all the threads on the RF all the way thru? There's some much off topic crap posted in each thread no one is going to read it beginning to end. Unnecessary comments? Get over yourself..

I don't see any off topic discussions in any thread.

Speaking of which, has anyone seen Rogue One yet?

Does it? I have a toddler so I'm not sure what's going on in the world. Are you going to see it?

I will go and see it. I hope it's good. I will go in the day probably on the 19th with my toddler son. I took my teenage daughter to see Episode VII and she asked too many questions during the movie. Ain't got time to recap I-VI for you right now. Is that my failure as a parent that she hasn't seen I-VI?

Wonder how Jalen looks on the Dline. Need DTs.

This is like the 3rd time Ive seen this mentioned. What on earth are you guys smoking that makes you think this kid could be plugged into the DL? At the SEC level no less...

He's a big body who has had major knee surgery more than once (2 for sure, I think 3 though). Honestly there is no indication from film or what-have-you that this kid can play on the DL at the collegiate level. He's only got film from his Soph year and Sr year. Junior and Freshman year he had knee injuries and I do recall reading he had knee surgery in middle school for a similar injury.

But yeah, if he wants to blueshirt I'd say he's worth the risk. Just not on the DL. :lolabove:

Yes. :)

I have tickets to take my three kids to see it on Friday night. Looking forward to it!

Yeah, because guys have never been recruited on one side of the ball and ended up playing on the other side. He plays D-line in high school. And I fail to see how his injury would prevent him from playing defense and not offense. I mean I know we have a lot of film experts and cyber coaches, but it doesn't seem as illogical as you are trying to make it out to be.

All the film Ive seen shows him on the offensive line playing tackle plus a bit of SR film at C. The camps he participated had him at offensive linemen as well. He may play both ways at the high school level but it's pretty clear he's an offensive lineman at the next level.

Usually you have some idea of who could play both ways, for example Jashon Robertson and Big Charles were both recruited as potential two way players and their film reflected that two-way potential.

So unless there is some mysterious DL of Jalen footage that I haven't seen...? I'm okay with calling a spade a spade. Offensive lineman all day at the next level...

Change this guys last name and his rating would be much lower IMO. We have done well on the OL in this class. Best of luck to him.

Sure, but the last name also shows you there is solid football pedigree and a genuine love for UT. Think he would be a solid blue shirt candidate and developmental project.

The future is set on the OL. Need to save that scholarship IMO

I think this is what he ends up as.
