'17 FL DE Deandre Johnson (UT commit 12/12/16)

Man Florida Atlantic and Florida International have got NOTHING on us when we want one of their prized recruits.

Does brick by brick mean 3 star by 3 star?

Okay then.

Of course I don't know for sure but what I do know is Jones has very good luck with recruits he flipped late in the process and very poor luck with lower rated kids committed early in the process.

I can think several instances of kids who flipped late that didn't pan out. And several instances of Lower ranked kids that we took early who had success

But that doesn't fit your morality narrative

Best defensive player on best team in Fla this year. Plays inside, outside and standing up at times. Kid loves to get after the QB.

Southridge plays in 8A(Fla largest class)

Southridge’s defense has allowed less than a field goal per contest this season. That’s 48 points in 13 games for an average of 3.7

No team has scored over 20 points on the Spartans, whose only losses came early in the season to Class 6A state finalist Carol City and Class 4A state semifinalist Booker T. Washington.

Following those two consecutive losses, Southridge had an amazing streak of seven consecutive shutouts that was snapped two weeks ago.

You will get flamed for this but its true. Some are acting like this guy is some kind of elite talent.

The only problem is that we flipped him from Mississippi State, not FAU or FIU. MSU has been putting defensive linemen in the NFL recently.

Fletcher Cox
Preston Smith
Pernell McPhee
Chris Jones
Kyle Love
Denico Autry

Just to name a few.

This guy actually has some pretty damn good stats against solid competition. Mississippi St. isn't exactly a small school. He has some good offers. A lot of these 3* recruits are vastly underrated and will contribute to our team more than you think.

I sure do hope so but regardless of what some might want to think, stars matter. Its been proven time and time again.

Absolutely agree that 3 stars sometimes outperform their rating. But you can't expect most to do so and this class is full of 5.5/5.6 players. This is the most worrying aspect of the CBJ regime right now IMO

I've always looked at stars as a probability. A 5 star has around a 70% chance of going to the NFL, a 4* somewhere around 50%, and a 3* at about 20%. Just the way it seems to me, no real numbers involved.

Not sure why they are saying that kid has offers from miss St, app st, auburn, Maryland, Illinois, South Carolina , temple and west Virgina

So basically to put in simple terms that means Shoop, Sirmon, Steele, Durkin, Lovie, Muschamp, Rhule, and Gibson all think he is good enough to offer a scholarship. Yep I think I'll roll with all those dude on whether he can play and not star gazer that doesn't even watch film to see kid is a player

Stars only matter in hindsight. A 5* may implode, a 3* may go supernova. A kid that can play..can play. It doesn't matter how many, or how few stars were awarded to them.

We aren't going to recruit like Bama and most others won't either. There is a huge difference with most 3 stars from Florida or Georgia compared to other states. Those states have so many players that they only slot so many as four stars. There are some 3 stars from Florida and Georgia who are better than some 4 stars in other states.

Personally I feel like rating high school football players is a dumb idea to begin with. If any coach believes that a certain player can contribute to their team, they deserve the chance to do so regardless of how many stupid stars they have next to their name. It's too much of a biased recruiting system anyway.

Yep..but too much money to be made. The way they do kids that don't camp is borderline extortion.
