Would you guys rather have Barrett or Etienne ?

Ettiene for me but I'm not picky here. Not biggest fan of barrets upright running style and needs to get better at ball placement or he will fumble a lot in college. Has nice talent otherwise though

He does run a little upright, could be a slot wr. Reminds me of the same style as Joe Mixon coming out of high school.

Per Hubbs

A late week addition to the visit list is another running back. Auburn commitment Devan Barrett. Barrett will be in town this weekend for an official visit. How much interest there is between the two sides is unclear. But clearly there's enough to get him on campus this weekend as the Vols try to lock up another tailback.

If we some how could flip this kid, wow!!! I like his film and pairing him with Chandler and Coleman, what a RB class. I really think the best coach on our staff is RG from recruiting to the development of our RBs.

If he is as good of football player as Mixon, minus his problems with hitting women, I would take him without even looking anywhere else.

It's a name that has popped up the end of the week. Barrett has not spoken to anyone as he has wanted to lay low with it all. We will try and get him after his visit if he is willing to talk.

Just a guess, but it might be one of those visits where a recruit is trying to justify or re-affirm in his own mind his commitment to another school. Obviously we don't know how much communication we've had with him but it does seem a little late to flip him.
Regardless, I'm glad the staff was able to at least convince him to come visit and give us an opportunity

Any real smoke here or just a kid having a good time?

Callahan:

Still looking into it a bit, but probably somewhere in between. Auburn still feels good about its chances of holding onto him for now, but I think there's maybe some genuine interest in Tennessee. We'll see what he says after this weekend.

I think he's at least open to taking a legitimate look at Tennessee this weekend. Auburn seems to still feel good about its chances, but Barrett and his family apparently are still keeping a close eye on the Tigers' search for a new offensive coordinator. Not sure that's likely to scare him off, but it's at least a question he has about Auburn.
