'17 FL RB Devan Barrett

But if you couldn't pick up sarcasm and the joking of the several posts made after that one, it's slightly embarrassing 😕

Callahan is so frustrating with his inability to actually take a stance on something.

I did a free trial with 247 a year or so ago and always got a kick out the way some people would word questions in a way he'd have to pick a side of the fence and he'd find a way to dodge it.

Part of me gets that he's gotta be careful not to be too frank about some things because he relies on his relationships with many of the people he's writing about for his livelihood.

Another part of feels like of your write for a living, you should be able to give your true opinions in a way that reasonable people can see is fair.

The problem with the latter is that I'm not sure CFB usually attracts reasonable people to make their living off of it lol. The lifestyle requires a certain kind of crazy in and of itself( not to say that someone who chooses that lifestyle can't be reasonable, by any means).

Ettiene for me but I'm not picky here. Not biggest fan of barrets upright running style and needs to get better at ball placement or he will fumble a lot in college. Has nice talent otherwise though

Rg can fix that quickly......don't doubt the rg

I'll have to take your word for it. I consider you an authority on being slightly embarrassing.

Also... I may not have read any posts after the first one.

I think he's at least open to taking a legitimate look at Tennessee this weekend. Auburn seems to still feel good about its chances, but Barrett and his family apparently are still keeping a close eye on the Tigers' search for a new offensive coordinator. Not sure that's likely to scare him off, but it's at least a question he has about Auburn. - 247

Edit: AU has just hired Chip Lindsey, OC at ASU. He was an analyst at AU in 2013 and runs the same offense Gus Malzahn & ASU HC Todd Graham developed together early in their careers. Lindsey is supposedly a good QB coach and AU is likely to start their new QB Stidham.

Per Callahan

Just spoke with four-star Auburn RB commitment Devan Barrett of Tampa, Fla., following his official visit to Tennessee this weekend. He said he decided to take the trip because he just wanted to keep his options open, and the Vols and Larry Scott never stopped recruiting him following his commitment to Auburn back in July. Barrett had been to Tennessee back in the summer, and he said he once again was impressed with the atmosphere this weekend.

Barrett said it still will take a lot for anyone to change his mind about the Tigers, but the Vols still are planning to visit on Tuesday, with Butch Jones, Robert Gillespie and Larry Scott planning to make the trip to Florida. Gus Malzahn and other Auburn coaches will visit with him Tuesday night, and he said he's planning to visit Indiana next weekend.

We have to get another running back in this class. As it stands with only having two committed at that position, we will only have 4 scholarship rb's. The freshmen will have to play.

We will get one.

If I was a recruit and just wanted to take a visit... Indiana would not be one of my top choices!

Indiana offers a top education, with one of the best party schools in America. They are a team on the rise in the Big Ten. Tom Allen will do big things in Bloomington. They have put a few players in the league recently as well. Obviously it's nothing compared to playing with the big boys in the SEC at UT, but a kid could do worse than going to IU.

I think you missed the point. One poster said he was taking visits just to have a good time. Indiana is not a school you visit just to have a good time on your visit.
