'17 FL RB Devan Barrett

I think you missed the point. One poster said he was taking visits just to have a good time. Indiana is not a school you visit just to have a good time on your visit.

Indiana is one of the top party schools in the US. Top 10 IIRC. If Im an 18 year old high school football player and I have an OV to burn, I'd take that visit if Indiana offered it. No idea if that's why he's going or not but it's plausible.

“It's a great school,” Barrett said of the Vols. “Like I said my recruiting process is still open. You never know what is going to happen. I'm just thinking.” “I would say that I am pretty solid, but I have always had my recruiting process open. I'm just looking around.”

“Coach Larry Scott is who I talk to a lot. I talk to him almost every day. He was telling me about the place and how great it is and everything he said was true. They have stayed with me ever since they offered. That's big when it comes to recruiting to see what schools really want you.”

“Playing time will be a big factor. Like I said a family atmosphere,” Barrett offered. “Just being around all the teammates and all the coaches, they are great people. I enjoyed being around them this weekend.”

“I talked to coach Malzahn,” Barrett said. “They said they still have the same playbook. I would fit in the same way in the offense they are running. “I would say it would take a lot (to flip his commitment) I have been to Auburn many times and I love it up there. I have family up there and stuff like that. It would take a lot.”

Both Tennessee and Auburn will get their final sales pitch on Tuesday. Barrett said head coach Butch Jones, Robert Gillespie and Larry Scott will be to see him Tuesday. Auburn on Tuesday is sending in Gus Malzahn, new coordinator Chip Lindsey and running backs coach Tim Horton.

Our TE commit just said "there is a pretty good chance we flip Barett" in am interview today. But there was a poster in this thread that stated pretty clearly that he was just visiting to have a good time and was not going anywhere but Auburn.

Yes, two different opinions on the situation.

Indiana offers a top education, with one of the best party schools in America. They are a team on the rise in the Big Ten. Tom Allen will do big things in Bloomington. They have put a few players in the league recently as well. Obviously it's nothing compared to playing with the big boys in the SEC at UT, but a kid could do worse than going to IU.

They aren't rising to anything. They will continue to get smashed by the top half of the BIG year in and out. The year indy is "on the rise" is when ky is in the ftball sec game

Read Barrett's words. He said it would take a lot for him to flip.

That is the standard answer. Show me a post trip interview in which a committed player said "just looking for anything small to change my mind, it really won't take much."

Even with another trip scheduled for next weekend, Barrett admitted it won’t be easy for another school to change his mind about Auburn.

“It’s going to, I would say, take a lot because I’ve been up to Auburn many times, and I love it up there,” he said. “I’ve got people, family up there and stuff like that. Yeah, it’d probably take a lot.”

I think that he sticks with Auburn, but I am not very good at guessing these things, either. This one will be interesting to watch.

It seems when recruits start making those type comments, then those are the ones that usually flip.
