'17 FL RB Timothy Jordan (UT signee)

Yet another reason why stars are ridiculous. We hadn't watched his film...really? Isn't that your job? Wtf?

That's exactly why he's a 2 star on rivals as well. Rivals does that all the time, whenever an under the radar kid picks up some offers and commits somewhere, but they haven't studied his film or he hasn't camped, they just slap a 2 star on him. And then later on once they get around to watching film they bump them up. But in this case it's too late now and rivals rankings are done for the year.

The term "under the radar" is real. The recruiting analysts/reporters simply can't evaluate all of them. They focus more on the ones getting the most attention from schools with big avid fanbases.

They evaluate kids that 1. Garner attention from big schools and therefore big fan bases. And 2. Kids that pay to go to their camps.

better than Ettiene (sp) not close. Nor is this kid better than Hayden. This one is a head scratchier but I see a pattern here Jabo Lee, Joe Young, Joc Bruce, and Lewis who just left. It hurts to see Rb recruiting go as it does, but I understand the recruiting spectrum has changed and kids go everywhere no days. I remember when CPF was getting 3 of the top 20 Rbs over and over again. We never had a lack for Rbs or elite Wrs and none were WKU level guys. Not knocking the kid just don't see or understand this one right here.

Pretty sure he was talking about Coleman. I have not read far enough to see if I was Swanson'd.

By the way

"He's moved up to an 86 grade on 247Sports. Admittedly, I hadn't watched his senior film before he committed. Both Steve Wiltfong and I watched and were really impressed with what he's put on film. I could see this kid being a steal for Tennessee in the long run. We've got his ranking reflecting that more closely now"

"Uhhh. Well his film had fallen between my desk and the wall. I dropped my Gameboy down there yesterday and found his film when I moved my desk to get it back. When the batteries in the Gameboy went dead I watched his film. He is probably better than even the 86 grade we gave him but we can't bump him too much or it will make us look even worse."

(made up quote from Barton when fictitiously asked why he hadn't watched the kid's film)

No offense to Timothy Jordan, but if we were gonna go after an under the radar RB, why didn't we look at Jordan Mason from Gallatin? Admittedly, I'm biased, being from the same hometown. But Mason had over 2000 yards and 23 TD's in just 11 games this season. He has SEC size at 6'0" and 205lbs, plus he's rated higher than T. Jordan. He ended up committing to GA Tech btw.

Way too many people worrying about him as our 3rd RB this class IMO. We have our established starter, a second year backup and a freshman stud already in the fold. He and Coleman will be battling to be the one that doesn't redshirt IMO.

My point exactly. We were looking for depth at the position. If this kid ends up being an all SEC type talent, even better. To many people became enamored with Cam Akers so they were hoping we would land the next best thing. We already did.

Wasn't talking about Etienne. I'm not high on him like some others. Especially in that Wing T system he's in. Half of his runs the defense doesn't know he has the ball until he's on the 3rd level.

Kelly is pretty good but let's not kid ourselves, he is not at Kamara's level--and neither is this kid; that's pretty obvious, but wish him the best. What high school?

Kelly is a better runner right now than Kamara. He's nasty already and he was just a Sophomore.

Kelly was arguably our best back. Him with starter touches will be fun to watch, as he adds that home run ability.

Jordan is bigger, faster, stronger than Hayden and has played much better competition. Yeah, probably not on par with Etienne, but probably better than Coleman.
