'17 FL RB/WR Darrian Felix

“What makes them different is the relationship I have with them,” Felix said. “They call me basically every day and they tell me to keep doing what I’m doing and don’t let anything stop me and keep moving forward."

“Just to really get an actual feel for the school and hang out with the players a little bit; just get a better explanation on why Tennessee is Tennessee,” Felix said on why he wanted to see Tennessee on his official visit.” “Everything. The people, the players, they all made me feel like I was at home,” Felix explained. “I had a good time (Saturday night). I just like Tennessee.”

“They compared me to (Alvin) Kamara, just how he’s so versatile out of the backfield. He can catch, he can punt return and kick return,” Felix said. “I think it’s a good comparison.”

“They said Kamara is probably leaving and then they have (John Kelly), Carlin Fils-aime and another sophomore running back and then two committed running backs and they are taking three,” Felix said. “I just look at it as a situation where I’m competing. It’s the SEC so every week you have to play your heart out.”

I like our chances... Oregon is not what they used to be and add the distance factor

North Carolina does not have the facilities, tradition, and appears to want to play in the SEC.

Just got around to watching his highlights and I'll just echo what others have said: this kid's got some wheels! I really do not care what his star rating is as long as he plays hard and can be a 5* teammate. If the staff thinks he has the talent to help us WIN then roll out the orange carpet.

Far more than a slim chance.

Nah the play designs aren't good. The concepts they attack with are just garbage at times. Short passing game doesn't even use slants even though Malone took one to the house versus Florida. Byrd was eating with them versus Florida. Jennings made a big play on one against A&M. But we don't call them nearly enough. Dobbs is inconsistent but he can complete his fair share of passes.

This a thousand times. I don't understand our offense at all. Run something and run it well a few times and it is abandoned for garbage that doesn't work. Last year, Bama players said we were one of the more difficult teams to guard due to all of the pre-snap motions and jet sweep action that kept the defense spread and we did that a lot last year with success and yet it is nowhere to be found this year. Same with I-formation against Northwestern and then it gets abandoned for pretty much the whole season. Slants killing a talented UF defense and let's not do that too much. And, when Dobbs runs well he generally throws well and yet DeBord calls very few designed runs to get Dobbs zoned in early in the game. Instead, we have to be behind to get Dobbs to run. Injuries killed us this year but DeBord is just awful or Butch is awful and won't let DeBord open it up. But, my guess is this is a DeBord playcalling issue and also a Butch issue because he hired DeBord from Olympic sports manager rather than getting a legit OC. I am hoping that the rumors of DeBord's imminent demise are true.

From what he said provided by Ron seems like we have a legitimate shot for Felix. Good get if we can't land Akers. Still would have two future RB's in Chandler & Felix as a great one-two combo.

Where does Trey Coleman factor in?

It's hard to say right now. Some are saying that CBJ is going to let him out of his scholarship & go elsewhere. I'm not sure that's going to happen though. He's been a solid RB & special teams player in high school his senior year. It's really hard to predict what CBJ will do with Coleman.

If I had to guess right now, I think he keeps him mainly for special teams play if not for RB. He's got enough talent to contribute to this football team at special teams & could also fill the backup role probably 3rd or 4th string though as a RB.

If he's coached up right I think he could become a solid player for us. That's if CBJ don't let him go 1st. I would say Coleman is 60%-65% safe to stay at UT but you just never know which players a coach will let go in these circumstances. Thanks.

The coaching up part of the equation is a big "if" with this coaching staff. They have taken their lumps this year for sure, but I remain on the fence in my assessment of their overall ability to develop talent.

Felix is playing CFA and Byrd's old school in the state playoffs tonight.

Takes the opening handoff of the game 66 yds for a TD.
