'17 FL WR Josh Palmer (UT Signee)

None of them run good routes. IMO

Malone ran the best two all year. The slant on Florida and the stop/go TD. Otherwise we watched a lot of talent just make plays. You don't have to be super quick or fast to create separation at WR. Every thing we run route wise looks so vanilla it's ridiculous.

This is correct. Routes are too vanilla and TE not used enough. Dobbs hit OJ Howard are 2 or 3 passes on same drive yesterday and they were taking advantage of LBs.

I honestly didn't realize how simple the pass game is in Butch's Offense.... There is not a lot of progression it seems... I might have not read enough but from what I did... Seemed simple and watched some tape and still saw some pretty simple stuff.

Canales has a history of being passing game coordinator so hopefully he and Scott can fix this problem if Butch will allow them to.

BB, you just can't grasp the nuances of Azzani and his methods.

You're just a simpleton wandering around in the muck of the Deep South.

Don't you know he developed ANTONIO BROWN?????🤔

And just look who hes developed in 4 years at TN!

Last year this comment makes sense but this year WRs were not the issue. I saw improvement in Malone and Jennings. At the end of the day Z doesn't control the plays called or where ball is thrown or the protection and just controls the executing of his unit on that play

I'm looking at the routes. They are nothing special watching all of our WRs. They aren't violent at all in and out of breaks.

And player execution. Cant have one without the other.

Imo, if none of the WR are running routes right as Breakerboy said, it's coaching. If it is one or two not running it right it is on player.

Football is 50% coaching and 50% player execution.

Players play it like you coach it.

If you are absolving the coaches for players not executing then they should get heat for not playing the 2nd string guys.
If the 2nd string guys don't get it either then theres something seriously lacking in your coaching. period

Every player in the position group isn't ****ing up, the way they're being taught is ****ed up

Yes the whole group looks the same. DBs look at those routes and just get ready to jump everything. All the routes are vanilla as hell.

I like his game as much as Murphy. No slight at Murphy either. This kid is the type of WR we usually DON'T get.....

I really do like both players a lot...I hope Murphys grade issues are overblown and he is on the team next year...I can see those two fitting right in to the rotation...if not next year then definitely in 2018

Murphy and Palmer will compliment Johnson and Byrd well next season. Well know they can all catch, but it all hinges on how fast they can get the Playbook down and begin to contribute.

All I have to go off of is HUDL highlights, so TIFWIW. But one thing I really like about Palmer is that he seems to be a natural hands guy.

I think some of the WRs we've taken in last years have had great athleticism or measureables, but haven't had such natural instincts to pluck the ball out of the air.
