'17 FL WR Josh Palmer (UT Signee)

Murphy and Palmer will compliment Johnson and Byrd well next season. Well know they can all catch, but it all hinges on how fast they can get the Playbook down and begin to contribute.

Yes, but I don't get nearly enough likes. I wish that someone would complement me.

All I have to go off of is HUDL highlights, so TIFWIW. But one thing I really like about Palmer is that he seems to be a natural hands guy.

I think some of the WRs we've taken in last years have had great athleticism or measureables, but haven't had such natural instincts to pluck the ball out of the air.

Yes he catches everything with his hands.

Unless one or more of the freshman ball out and take a spot I think Byrd stays on offense. Not saying he should, just that I predict he will.

I just think Johnson will start over Callaway personally. I really think the coaches like what they see and he seemed to see the field over him last year. I think he will be too good to keep off the field this year.

I'm worried his injury/surgery will keep him from the time he really needs in the weight room and in spring practice...it think Calloway passes him because of this...but I think 1-6 on that list will play a ton next year...I wouldn't expect 7-10 to get a ton of snaps but who knows

Palmer, who graduates from South Florida powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas on Monday, “took a chance” and moved in with his aunt in Fort Lauderdale. It was an adjustment at first, but the 6-foot-2, 195-pound wideout’s gamble paid off, and Palmer's journey is just getting started.

Palmer’s recruitment exploded after a solid senior season for the Class 7A state champs. He recorded 32 receptions for 506 yards and eight touchdowns, turning down scholarships from Michigan, UCLA, Penn State and others in favor of Tennessee.

As Palmer prepares to move again soon for college, his decision to attend St. Thomas Aquinas was definitely the right one, he reflected.

“When I first found out about the school it was just another option because I was going to move down to the States my junior year anyways,” he said. “I just didn’t know where exactly. But when I found out about this school, I didn’t know about the legacy of how many guys they’d sent to college and the league. I didn’t know that until I really moved down here and started to find out more and more about the school. I knew the academics were good, but it was a real eye-opener.”

Since National Signing Day, Palmer has been working hard to ready himself for the college transition. He’s been using Rock Gullicksen’s weight-training guide and worked with his high school receivers coach Glen Holt on route running, technique drills and the JUGGS machine.

Think he will be the first WR from the 2017 class to make an early impact. He's got the size and good enough technique to help very early.
