'17 GA ATH Marquez Bembry (UT signee)

He was a 4 star, and he dropped 4 star to 3 star. I've seen 247 saying he might get a bump, they dropped him as well. Everyone seemed to at the same time. At least now he gets the SEC bump but Butch needs better analytics. You let these kids commit to Bama and get the mega bump, then flip them.

Nothing personal, but that is one of the most asinine comments that I have seen in quite a while.

Whether this kid is a 3* or 4* doesn't make him a better or worse football player. Production on the field is all that matters...not stars. While stars may be indicative of the quality of player, it is an arbitrary system and the ratings are not absolute.

Johnny Football was a 3* recruit. How did that work out for aTm?

Daniel Brooks was a 5* recruit. Not sure UT got the value they thought they would.

It was a joke

Right now this kid is a no-brainer take that you further evaluate his senior year.

Anybody that says different is pandering to the devil.

Negavol IMO. The sky is not falling like you are suggesting. They will be re evaluated in time and get higher rankings. Butch has proven he can evaluate talent well.

I must have wandered into bizarro world. Or else Catbone has been hacked and his account should be deleted immediately.

Tennessee has been recruiting this kid for a couple of years. I don't get the angst. Explosive and tough enough to play end on defense and athletic enough to play wide receiver on offense

To be honest, I wasn't being at all sarcastic with what I said about Butch. Dude knows talent when he sees it, as does his staff.

I agree. I was just poking fun. You do contribute a lot to the conversation and your the only UGA poster I haven't ignored. :p

Look, no human endeavor is perfect, and that includes the player identification and evaluation process. But as long as Bob Welton is on staff, I'm personally giving Butch the benefit of the doubt. The guy is one of the best in the country at his job, at any level.

What's the problem with this take again? If he's 200 pounds with his athleticism he's a take. Bulk him up to 225lbs and play him at OLB. His ball skills are fine as well as his movement in space. Hell he plays WR too so he's comfortable in space. He rushes the passer because his HS team probably can't get pressure without him.

Would be interesting to compare. Not sure it's very very very key. :)

Think Bruin needs a little vacation? And a little lithium?

Freak, if you take care of the vacation, I'll handle the lithium or maybe sertraline...

:)

Seems the other VN posters would benefit from a Bruin vacation imo :hi:

 you do know that was taking a shot at the star gazers, riiiiiight? :thud:

No offense to Dews, but when you see his build, it's unfathomable that he had an offer as a DL player here.

That is a frame built for basketball, not football. If he worked his tail off, he could have made it as a WR, but DL, no way.

Yep but this board certainly didn't see it that way at the time
