corker had been to tennessee for its home game against arkansas state in september 2014, and he returned in april for one of the vols spring practices. But he said there was a big difference between those trips and what he experienced saturday, when tennessee overcame a 21-0 deficit to beat florida for the first time since 2004.
it was really loud. It was just a great atmosphere, and the fans were just going crazy, said corker, whos ranked the nations no. 325 overall prospect and no. 35 cornerback in the 247sports composite for the 2017 class. it actually surpassed my expectations. they definitely leaped into my top three, not (just) my top five. They definitely moved up some slots.
his mother enjoyed her first look at tennessee, too. that was her first time seeing everything, corker said. shes very comfortable with me if i wanted to go there. Shes very comfortable with leaving me there, and she loved the game. She wants to go back to see another one.
i talked to butch jones some, and i talked to willie martinez the most, corker said. they were just talking about their need for corners and everything, and how many people are leaving, how many spots are still open and things like that, and how this is a great, family atmosphere and that he can help me develop and become more of a man.
the thing that mostly stands out: When i got the chance to talk to the players that already committed in my class, and i got a chance to talk to their parents, they were telling me that, what you see here, its not fake. What you see is what you get, corker said.
butch jones is a great coach, and they really take care of their players and they really love their players. And thats something that i saw. The players that already committed, they were always staying together, laughing and talking and things like that.
