'17 GA CB Yusuf Corker

The biggest problem for Justin was the technical stuff he was taught by T. Fair and Brent Alexander, and then working strictly with Martinez and he was telling all the dbs bail and don't get beat. This caused him to grow frustrated and rebell against CWM. He spoke with CBJ about and then it became a back and forth thing with him and CWM. My guy from Tucker who played for CWM @ UGA said he was an avg coach, bad DC, but good recruiter, but if you get on his bad side its hard to recover LOL and I guess this proved to be true. The thing we preach to Justin is that when you give another person control of your actions and responses you lose all power and control to dictate a situation. So knowing Warren track record and his discipline this could go two ways. Kicked off or ball out. I hope its the latter because this kid has legit talent and can be elite. But lets be honest we had no good Db play in 2016 and it was all small technical issues.

Like I said, a pat of me will be surprised if he finishes 2017 on the roster. It sounds like you at least somewhat agree or believe it's a possibility. Kid just doesn't appear to have it between the ears. Hope he proves me wrong and lives up to the hype. So far, he's left a lot to be desired, coaching or not.

I do agree Cncchris but his main problem is gone. Its similar to havingva job with a bad boss. You seek other employment or work very unhappy and don't gaf. Then your boss is fired and the passion returns. I really hope this is the case for Justin because potential says he can be special and he's never had coaching issues until UT. His problems hv bn in the classroom and that is no longer the case. New position coach should equate to new life for #8. Its hard learning from Alexander a All pro NFL player at NPA and T. Fair then being taught the opposite and being forced to do it by someone else.

Doesn't have it between the ears? Why would you say that? He's somehow made it two years so far. 2015 he looked good say whatever you want. Kid didn't catch picks where he gambled and used his length to make a play. This past year versus Va.Tech he had one bad play against the run. The PI calls were BS with a 6'7 TE stiff arming him in the face for separation. He and Sutton killed them that game outside. Forced them to dump everything short. Rest of the season he didn't play near his potential. Dude isn't as bad as some on this board think. I can see how he was frustrated. A coach coaching CBs to not get beat will have you getting killed. A CB will be beat in games. It happens at DB. But you need them in a mindset to go make a play as well. Our guys as a whole outside of Sutton were scared to go make plays all year.

I am talking about his overall mindset. Off the field issues, suspensions, attitude, etc. That lack of discipline off the field carries over on the field as well. No doubt he has some talent. He just hasn't shown as much as you are letting on yet. Maybe the biggest part of that is coaching, like De1 has suggested, so maybe that changes with Warren.

I'd love for him to ball out and shut me up, but as of now, the production hasn't matched the hype. Agree to disagree.

I hope you're right. Would love for Warren to turn him around.

So glad we hired Warren and hopefully we see a big difference in all those small technical issues that we magnified this season.

Good CB absolutely has to have confidence.. A bad coach can destroy that..

How much of cwm leaving was shoop saying this guy is not even close enough to cutting it aa a dB coach and I can't have my secondary finishing in high 60 statistically every year

Backing off is just asking to get burnt. You're giving the WR too much of an option and allowing him to dictate. If you're scared, you won't make the plays anyway. You get hit short and miss the tackle, you get hit a 2nd time on a come back, now you're really shook and the WR's are in your head.

I think he just means in regards to whether Martin has it in him to put up with all the outside stuff that goes along with playing SEC ball while performing at a high level on the field.

I think at this point it's fair to question whether Martin has it in him to keep his head in straight, go to work, and put it all together.

But that doesn't mean we should be counting him out or closing the door on him. I agree that a new DB coach should be a great opportunity for him.

This thread's got some good stuff going on, has me excited for Warren's impact. I saw a vid on one thread of the NC DB plays against Miami, and they looked fierce, physical, and like they were just trying to make a play. Would definitely like to see that here.
