'17 GA CB Yusuf Corker

Hopefully he develops Justin Martin into that NFL prospect his physical gifts say he is.

I want the secondary to be like this next year:

CB - Moseley/Byrd/Labruzza
CB - Martin/Buchanan
NB - Gaulden/Osborne
FS - Abernathy/Griffin
SS - Warrior/Berry

TKjr should be moved to LB.

Byrd needs to stay on offense and if Moseley never starts again It will be too damn soon. Got old watching him get burned every pass play.

IMO, there's no way they switch Byrd to corner if he can't beat Moseley out for a spot. I hope the upgrade at DB coach helps Martin, but there's nothing out there but his measurables to indicate that he's got what it takes to start. I wouldn't count Buccanon out as a starter, he reminds me of a young Cam Sutton and he seemed to get some meaningful minutes over Martin last year as well.

I would not be upset at all if TKjr move to LB... It was one play during the bowl game where he lined up next to Kirkland, he shot the gap almost making the pay in the backfield. With his instincts and size weakside/will LB could be his best fit.

Also, I would like to see Abernathy move back to Corner if Byrd stays on offense alongside 2015 Martin not the last year one. As far as safeties I know that we use alot of 5 defensive backs but I wouldn't mind seeing Griffin at FS and Gaulden SS. With Berry size and athletic abilities to me he would make a perfect NB in our 4-2 defense. This gives us the most athletic lineup for coverage and tackling imo.

Looking forward to Byrd being all conference as a WR in 2017.

I look forward to Tennessee winning the SEC with Byrd at CB.

You're both right! Byrd will play both sides and light up the SEC. Lol.

But really, I think he should train at both this spring and see where he is needed more. I'd be fine with him playing D but getting 5-7 touches on offense a game.

I would play Byrd at CB with offense packages

The problem is that a good defensive coordinator can coach his team up to know what is coming when specialists enter the game. You can do some creative things, but he won't be able to have the whole offense and I think he would be of very limited effectiveness on offense unless he is there full time.

He was there full time last season..."limited effectiveness". I think he could be a very good to great WR. I think he could be special at DB. JMO.

At times. At other times he looked like garbage. 2016 was a total failure from him. He is so undisciplined, both on and off the field apparently. Frankly, I'll be surprised if he makes it thru the 2017 season without being dismissed. Kid just seems like a million dollar body with a ten cent brain.

The biggest problem for Justin was the technical stuff he was taught by T. Fair and Brent Alexander, and then working strictly with Martinez and he was telling all the dbs bail and don't get beat. This caused him to grow frustrated and rebell against CWM. He spoke with CBJ about and then it became a back and forth thing with him and CWM. My guy from Tucker who played for CWM @ UGA said he was an avg coach, bad DC, but good recruiter, but if you get on his bad side its hard to recover LOL and I guess this proved to be true. The thing we preach to Justin is that when you give another person control of your actions and responses you lose all power and control to dictate a situation. So knowing Warren track record and his discipline this could go two ways. Kicked off or ball out. I hope its the latter because this kid has legit talent and can be elite. But lets be honest we had no good Db play in 2016 and it was all small technical issues.

This makes sense. Just seems this kid could be very good but was not into it. Hopefully, the coaching change will help him do well. He has all the measurables.

Hope he bonds with coach Warren and balls out this season.
