'17 GA LB Jaquan Henderson (Former UT commit)

Not all the guys committed now will be here on signing day either. I'd say 2-3 will change schools or will be told to look around due to higher level targets.

Only player I don't get is Trey Coleman. Not super excited about him.

Have you take the opportunity to view his highlight video? He looks pretty doggone good.

What makes you skeptical? From what I've read he plays top competition and seems to do very well. Obviously all I have is his hudl film, but what makes you skeptical of him?

I'm no talent scout. Just want to make that clear first of all. No reason for anybody to take my word for much.

But the highlights of his I saw don't really show him finishing runs that well. He shows a nice burst and seems to run pretty hard, but there wasn't a single play that really wowed me. It's not so much that I don't think Coleman can't or won't be good...I just think we need to be landing top caliber RBs this class and I don't see Coleman as that.

Did you watch this vid? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0ZGXLh3JKE

I think he is very shifty but I question his overall speed and I'm not quiet sure he is the listed weight. Also believe he needs some time in the program to develop and feel we need an immediate impact at RB for next year. Now if we land Akers and Chandler plus him then I feel alright.

I'm really picky with RBs anyway. I questioned the John Kelly signing so take that how you wish.

Surely that's the plan. Would love to have all three

Also I apologize for steering the thread into a completely different and irrelevant direction.

I really like this signing of Henderson though. He will help with Holloman and is a solid player as well. Dude will be so good here.

I agree, one of my favorite commits so far. Henderson is a baller

Serious question to all you guys that evaluate players' film-- do you trust your film evaluation more or do you trust the coaches' evaluation more? Not being a jerk here-- just interested in others' views.

Since the coaches have seen all of the same film, and then have done specific evaluations to supplement film, the coaches already have a big advantage over others....skill notwithstanding. But some folks here watch A LOT of film...

Coaches don't watch highlight films to evaluate players. They watch full game films. They don't want to just see the plays they make they want to see everything about the players. You can't evaluate most players from highlights only.

This is true. With that said, coaches evaluations very all the time on the same guy as well. Outside of the elite guys that everyone offers, you're going to see staff's differ greatly on how they view a prospect like Henderson.

And now you k ow why the coaches know more than VN experts. Jason knows because he was a player and is closer to the program than most on here.
