Hope this guy is the real beal!

Unless he graduates, I think it would be too risky to take him because it's not guaranteed to get a waiver to play right away.

We don't want this guy, he simply got buried on their depth chart.
Imagine if LSU said the same thing about Joe Burrow or Ohio State said the same thing about Justin Fields.

Linebacker is a position of need and, provided he isn't an underperformer, he would be a benefit to the program.

interesting...wonder what the real story is...:D

GO BIG ORANGE...BEAT THE HOOSIERS!
Another 4 star took the starting position and the #1 recruit in the country last year pushed him down even further.

No shame here, just seems like a deep position and he didn't see himself cracking the starting line up.

He was great in high school. Maybe it just hasn't clicked for him yet

For a guy as highly touted as he was coming out of HS, Beal's actual pass-rush production was relatively modest:

IMO, those numbers and the fact he fell to 4th-string this year suggest he was overrated to start with. While I don't believe Beal's an elite talent who would have a significant impact @ UT, he's still a solid SEC-caliber LB.

See link to stats below, also he was arrested in the off-season last year:

Question: Is there one hint that the staff is interested in this guy? I really don't understand this forum sometimes, when Brenton Cox stepped into the portal earlier this year, I said we should get him, most disagreed, citing off-season issues (Cox was arrested in the same incident Beal was) and not wanting UGA's "gitshirts", etc. Florida then scooped him up, and for good reason, Cox actually played a lot for UGA in 2018 and appeared to be good, he was just wasn't meshing at UGA.

Beal, from what I understand, has basically been a scrub for 2 years coming in when games were out of hand, plus a lost redshirt year. All indications are that Beal is simply a recruiting miss, someone who was overrated coming out of high school, it happens all the time. I'd rather the staff take their shot at a kid coming out of high school or transfer who either has been productive elsewhere, or at least can likely play and add depth next year. If our staff decides to go after him, fine, they know better than me, but just based on what I know from living down here in this accursed state and hearing about the dwags all the time, I'd pass on this guy. JMO.
