'17 GA WR Jeremiah Holloman

Hey thanks Kristy it sure has been fun with the opportunity I've had to be "in the know" so to speak.

Unfortunately, that time is coming to an end as I'll be moving to a new position in a new field here in the coming months. I'll remain an avid VN'er and if I do get any kind of info from any remaining contacts I'll be sure to let my friends on VN in on it.

GFW = Diamond Dave Hart!!!! Say it ain't so

Secking is right. Seems to be a trend-- highly recruited players hoping to piggyback a relative into a D-1 scholarship.

WR Layfeatte Holloman is Jeremiah's brother. He was academically ineligible last year, so he sat out a season. He's been camping around the SEC this year-- at UT, UGA, Auburn and a few other schools that are recruiting Jeremiah. IDT UT recruited Layfeatte much at Newton, and I'm not sure UT is all that interested in a package deal given our packed class, but we've been down this road before-- with Gibbs/Reed and the Gaddy brothers.

Newton opened their season last night. I couldn't find full stats, but Holloman had two td's, blocked a punt, and had a 60 yard punt return.

Holloman looked good. It always amazes me how much the highly recruited HS kids stand out in HS games. They almost look out of place. Noticeably bigger, thicker, stronger, faster. Georgia had the Corky Kell Classic event that started on Thursday. If was one HS game after another on Thursday and Friday night and all day Saturday. Fox Sports South did a great job televising the games and the play by play announcers were excellent. Remember, Grayson plays IMG this coming Saturday. Should be able to watch it on one of the ESPN channels.

he said coach Butch Jones in particular still talks with him more than any other head coach recruiting him – and, in some cases, even more than his position coaches and area recruiters for some schools.

You never know in recruiting. UGA thought he was committing to them a while ago and still hasn't at least publicly. I'd say TN is at least keeping him from closing any doors right now.

Top-100 wide receiver Jeremiah Holloman obviously was planning to visit Tennessee over the weekend, along with teammate and friend Jaquan Henderson, but wasn't able to make the trip. But he said the Vols still are one of the teams he's considering, and he plans to visit them for one of their home games this season. He said he also intends to visit Georgia to see the Bulldogs play host to Tennessee on Oct. 1. The Vols continue to talk with him every day, and he said coach Butch Jones in particular still talks with him more than any other head coach recruiting him – and, in some cases, even more than his position coaches and area recruiters for some schools.

Holloman currently is keeping an open mind about when he might make a decision, but he did say that he's planning to be an early enrollee, so any decision he makes likely will have to come by December or early January.
