'17 GA WR Justin Marshall (Louisville commit)

Many may not like what I have to say, but I am being honest. I think that this guy is average and is not worth taking at this point in the year. A 3* is about right in my opinion. I am alright with taking some 3* developmental players, but those need to be had early on. If we get another WR I would rather hold off for Holloman or another player who is at least a 4* player in my mind.

For the record, I really, really like Jordan Murphy who I think is a borderline 5* player. Also, I like our other WR commit, Princeton Fant, and am excited to see how he performs this year coming off injury. He looks to have plenty of potential.

Not much difference in Marshall and Murphy in reality though.

He really like the visit. Said it helped the Vols. Louisville is still his top school but said some may be surprised when he announces.

Sums it up from 247

I could see dropping Jones if Marshall wants on board . At 23 commits somebody would have to go. Trey and Ty hopefully have the last 2 spots. I am sure they would drop someone if Holloman wants on board, too good to pass up.

Here's what I've said that has to happen quite a few times in different threads. We right now have 23 scholarship commits. Butch wants to get 25 total recruits. That would be 2 left as of right now. What Butch will probably do is release 3-5 commits & that will give us 5-7 total commits left to go after.

Some members on here were hollering for Butch to allow 10+ commits to leave. He can't do that. It will make him look bad & cause the media to have a frenzy about it. Schools do this all the time. It's different amounts of recruits released for each school.

Butch has something up his sleeve & I believe it's coming on NSD & not before. He can get us into the top 10 signing class for sure. There's a chance he gets us a top 5 signing class like he did 2 years ago. In order to do this we will have to gain at least 1-2 5* recruits & the rest have to be 4* recruits.

No more 3* stuff. Getting Ty Chandler & Trey Smith would go a long way towards that goal. That would be our 2 spots left right now anyhow. One is a RB & the other an OL. That would fit in just well for our team.

I like what you are saying. I think Butch knows he is going to need to cull some recruits. Ty and Trey are must haves at this point. That would give us 3 players in the top 100.

He said he will make a decision on Aug. 31 now. He spoke glowingly about Ike Brown and that he really liked his time spent with him and how much he means to players.

Will have a full story tomorrow but I think Tennessee is much more of an option following this visit than they were heading in.

With that said, Louisville will be tough to beat. Grew up there and still has family there and grew up wanting to play at Louisville.
