"Really, really comfortable," Johnson said when asked just how comfortable he is on Rocky Top. "My parents and I really, really enjoy it here."
Johnson remains high on the Vols for several reasons, most notably the continued rise of the program under Butch Jones.
"You can definitely tell that Tennessee is on the rise right now and that it's only going to go up from here," Johnson explained. "You can tell that in the recruiting and the energy around Tennessee around here right now is pretty special."
Although Mike DeBord was brought on in February, Johnson said he and the Vols' offensive coordinator have built a good relationship in the past few months and added that it's helped by a strong relationship with the head coach.
"We talk every week on the phone and I've visited here twice now since he got here. I think we've built a really good relationship," Johnson said. "I talk to coach Jones quite a bit over the phone, too, and (Saturday) while we've been here."
While Johnson doesn't have a set decision date, he admitted a decision could be right around the corner and the Vols seem to be making a strong impression.
"I'm not positive, yet," Johnson started, "but I feel like I'm pretty close. I feel like I'm in a good spot right now. We've been to a lot of places and seen a lot of places and Tennessee is a school I'm really, really comfortable with right now and I feel really, really good about."
