'17 IN QB Hunter Johnson (Former UT Commit 8/23/15) (Clemson commit)

Avon senior quarterback Brandon Peters put on a display of accuracy, completing 19 of 25 passes for 340 yards and six touchdowns in a 56-21 victory over Brownsburg. It was the kind of performance that Orioles fans have grown accustomed to seeing from the Michigan recruit.

For Brownsburg junior quarterback Hunter Johnson, it was a night he would like to forget. The University of Tennessee recruit ended his night with a stat line of 13 of 23 for 198 yards, to go along with two touchdowns and three interceptions.

Friday Night Football: Benningtons lead TL

FWIW, Peters is 247Sports' top-ranked 2016 prospect in Indiana & their No. 6 pro-style QB nationally.

Johnson's team sucks a**. I almost feel sorry for him.

Johnson's team AND head coach are both terrible. 2 of his INTs were completely on the WR. Not sure why his coach ran the clock with 1:15 at the half, and not sure why he kept running the ball down 3 Td. You can't give up the run in the NFL or college, but with a 5* QB you can throw the ball every time in HS if you want to.

It is easy to tell that Johnson is very talented, but he has a few things to learn also. His ratings may drop some because his team keeps losing. If he hits the camp circuit next summer, everyone will be talking about him.

Most likely he will be at the Manning camp, I hope.

Results matter but they must be placed IN CONTEXT. If Hackenberg played with a roster like Ohio State and was still putting up mediocre stats, then that would raise major red flags. But if his offensive line continues to struggle and if those young receivers don't start making plays, then talent evaluators will overlook the numbers just like they're overlooking last years production.

No one is saying production doesn't matter. But it must be placed in context. There are way too many examples in the NFL of guys putting up ridiculous stats and failing and guys putting up middling stats and being studs. At the end of the day, the draft like recruiting will always be first and foremost about talent and what a player CAN BE rather than production and what the player also is.

Hackenberg is dropping like a anchor in deep water.

This kid is good just give him time hell it ain't like he's playing with superstars he's really the only one on that team that's worth watching bet if he was with IMG academy there wouldn't be no question of his abilities 😒

Yep. It sucks for a young stud QB when your team that surrounds you is nowhere close to your talent level. This kid has the potential to be very special here.
