-- Josh HelmholdtTennessee made an early impression on Johnson and that interest never waned. They were the favorites to land the class of 2017's No. 1 ranked signal caller going into the summer, and even though there were suggestions that he would commit earlier, Johnson made sure the interest was lasting before he finally made his commitment at the end of August. This is the type of commitment that not only can bolster a recruiting class, but can also change the direction of a program. Johnson is a rare talent who lacks for nothing in physical tools and mental approach to the position.
There have been some down moments for the No. 1-rated quarterback in 2017, particularly with 10 interceptions in the early going, but Johnson has already thrown for 1,737 yards and 19 touchdowns through six games. The Tennessee commit is also the second-leading rusher on his team with 228 yards from scrimmage.
SIAP but here is a link to his Junior Season highlights so far.

Can't wait til these kids get on campus. Barring injury to Dobbs next year it would be interesting to see if Dormady gets redshirted (in 2016) in favor of S. Jones taking the back-up QB spot. That would make for a ridiculous QB battle in 2017.
S. Jones (RS SO) vs Q. Dormady (RS SO) vs J. Guarantano (RS FR) vs Hunter Johnson (FR)
Definitely can make all the throws.
Only thing I worry with him is the competition and if he can read defenses. Of course we shouldn't need him from the day he walks on campus so he should be able to learn a lot before playing.
But the competition is always weaker in high school, I understand that, they have played a couple teams from around Indianapolis so I'm sure he has seen some better defenses. Just wish it was every week.
I'm looking forward to Hunter in Orange, kid being from the county over would always get my support, but being a Vol makes it better.
You wish. Dobbs is the second best offensive player on this team. He's our starter till he graduates.
