'17 IN QB Hunter Johnson (Former UT Commit 8/23/15) (Clemson commit)

I'm just waiting for Butch to go OBC and play two quarterbacks the whole games. I mean it's hard to bench Dobbs when he runs for over 100. I think the passing game can improve, they haven't even tried to throw it down the field because they lack confidence in the Line and probably Dobba. We have some super talented guys on the outside, I'm sure a couple of them can get open.

This should happen. Split time between 2 QB's and throw the damn ball.

Agreed. It's going to get harder and harder to run as it becomes clearer and clearer that Dobbs can't throw the ball down field and isn't allowed to throw it over the middle.

Guys, it's not the QB's fault. You can't throw the ball when the defenders get to the QB before the ball does.

Peyton Manning in his heyday couldn't throw behind this O-line. They're giving their all for Tennessee every Saturday, but their all just isn't enough. This is what hairball when you an entire recruiting cycle and sign zero OL prospects.

We're still suffering from the Dooley Effect.

Dobbs had pretty good protection against Arkansas on many occasions and so missed throws. They rolled him out and he still missed throws. The problem isn't all on the OL.

And when Dobbs does make a good throw sometimes the receiver still drops it. Preston had a bad fumble and a bad drop on Saturday and Malone doesn't give much effort to go get a ball if it doesn't fall right in his lap from what I've seen.

The fact is all 3 are hurting our passing game on any given play and all 3 need some improvement for us to be successful. (Those 3 being pass blocking by the O-Line, accuracy and timing from Dobbs, and effort by the receivers)

The fact also is that the OL is at least good enough to scheme around them and let them not hurt the passing game. Three step drop timing routes, rolling Dobbs out, etc. I would say the OL is fourth behind, pass game scheme, Dobbs, and WRs in order of things that are killing out passing game.

Hunter has some incredible mechanics, release and form like Peyton and can drop it in past 25yds like Casey, fast uphill and ice cold in the pocket, gonna be fun to watch.

Did I read correctly that Johnson was sacked ten times in his last game, or was that a typo?

Definitely not one of his better performances...

The Bulldogs' highly touted junior quarterback Hunter Johnson, a Tennessee recruit, was under consistent pressure. Collin Miller collected at least five of the 10 sacks recorded by Hamilton Southeastern. The first half appropriately ended with Johnson being sacked by Matio. Hamilton Southeastern led 27-2.

Johnson threw a pair of second half touchdown passes to Vincent Lismon. He completed 14 of 33 passes for 176 yards, but the outcome was already decided.

I hope scouts won't rob Johnson's rating cause he's clearly an elite talent. It's just that's he's on a very bad high school team and he can't help that.

I don't think his rating will be affected much. He performs really well at camps and I think the recruiting analysts take his team's poor talent into consideration.

What does it matter? He already has a scholarship waiting for him on The Hill and several other excellent offers. An increase or decrease in his rating won't affect him in the least.

It helps from a perception standpoint. Having the #1 QB in the nation committed is a big selling point for recruits.

His entire team is garbage...He would be smart to transfer out of there and get with a team that can protect him...He keeps getting sacked like that and he's going to get hurt...He really is a special kind of player and I can't wait to see him wearing the orange and white
!
