'17 IN QB Hunter Johnson (Former UT Commit 8/23/15) (Clemson commit)

Going back through this thread it certainly reads as though HJ dropped his commitment because he didn't want to sit behind JG. There's also suggestion in here that HJ cost us Rogers and Higgins. I would trade the potential of those three for JG but since that's not an option I hope that JG is Heisman winning-level QB. Not sure how that qualifies as trollish. I think what we're witnessing is that after having given Butch four seasons to prove himself people are starting to form opinions on him. Some people don't like those opinions but don't have much in the way of facts to back up their emotional responses so they resort to insults and questioning people's fanhood. I've been a member here for awhile and I've seen this all before. IGBOK.

What do you mean by "us" and "we're"

Looks like our resident Hillbilly is continuing his ways.

I'd just say the honeymoon is over. Time to get real and think about the future. Some people have been there for a while, some need more time, and some will require a restraining order even after the ink is dry on the divorce papers. Such is life.

Just quit with the nonsense, like you bumping this thread.

I would say randomly bumping a thread that hasn't had any comments for well over a month with no actual news on the player would reflect emotional instability. Basically in your virtual world you are trading a 5 star dual threat QB for an overrated midget, a statue QB that has performed poorly in most of the camps and QB competitions, and a kid who may not even have the grades to get into college. Good thing you have zero decision making capabilities.

Sooo....because HJ was afraid of the competition, that is JG's and the coaching staff's fault? Are you suggesting that we should have not recruited JG and coddled HJ, so that Amari and Tee might come here? Honestly, I don't think Amari was ever going to come here, so therein lies the fallacy of your argument, along with the fact that it makes no other sense otherwise.

Where do people get the scared stuff. Didn't HJ originally commit after JG? Clemson signed highly rated QBs last year, and has another in this class.

So anger at outcomes is not considered an emotional response? I would say that the responses from the so-called negavols (hate those terms) are more laced with emotion than the positive posters.

How many seasons do you need to see Butch snatch defeat from the jaws of victory before the lightbulb goes off? I get that there is the truefan element who will stick up for the coach right up to the exact second that he is fired/resigns and then they will be just as dedicated to the next guy once he's hired. Others of us see trends and results and form opinions based on those observations. There's nothing angry about utilizing the senses of perception that the Lord blessed us with. It's called being a human being.

The fact that you are *****ing because we have Jarrett Gaurantano instead of Hunter Johnson belies the amount of intelligence you have.

Sounds like you are bragging about being a disloyal fan. Yes, I'll be loyal to the coach and the team as long as they are volunteers. Your ouiji board may tell you to hate the team and talk badly about them at every opportunity. That's fine. You aren't in the know enough to have good info, but if you want to trash the. Volunteers coach, team, and program while pretending to be insightful, I guess there is nothing stopping going you. Bad judgment is what it is. My theory is you are only here because everyone in the Football forum already blocked you anyway.

Would this make him a voiceless guru?

Revisiting this thread all I can think is JG better win a freaking Heisman Trophy for all it's cost us. sigh.

You take the guy you need in the current class tor recruiting . #1 dual threat for an offense better suited for a dual threat. Go back to your hole. Hunter didn't have a Clemson offer when committing to TN and pretty obvious it was the one he wanted all along to flip so easily.

Its kind of funny to see people trashing HJ ever since he chose Clemson over UT. Now he is overrated, not very good blah, blah, blah. But if he would have stuck with us, most would be bragging about how we got one of the top QBs in the country.

I questioned the fit long before his decomittment. Check my stats. Don't think he ever becomes a factor at Clemson either.

Hunter Johnson is another Worley in our offense. JG is the better fit at QB.

Made #10 on 247's Top Performer list from the Army AA game practices.

10. The most natural thrower of the football was Clemson five-star quarterback commit Hunter Johnson who spins it consistently, has the most arm talent and has a knack for hitting receivers in stride. Johnson’s best throw of the day was a thread-the-needle dime to Henry Ruggs that had his peers shaking their head in awe.

Problem is it's not just Vol fans pulling their information out of thin air. If you want to omit several pages of assessments from scouts and analysts feel free, but it makes your take as ridiculous as you are trying to make other people's takes sound.

If this kid never plays a snap of college ball I still say his decommit from the Vols was the first and largest domino that led to this class being subpar.

Hunter and Tee defecting dealt a huge blow to the class and to the potential of what it could have been.
