Well with you only throw screens and a few 5 yard passes I guess.. lol

Our playcalling is....

Don't even get me started.

Sometimes it seems as if Butch started watching football during 2001. When the spread first began inplement the option.

But he never studeid the option or the spread in their more original versions.

Why do I say this? Because we don't run or pass well consistently, be we keep trying both. We're so easy to defend.

I think you're right but a close 2nd in my opinion is Jerry Jeudy. Then, I would have Devonta Smith 3rd & Tee 4th.

I put Jody lewis, Trevon Grimes, and James Robinson in the group above him mainly because they are more physically developed and have more speed. Tee and Nico Collins are right behind and you can flip a coin between them.

When you say him I assume you mean Tee Higgins right?

I forgot about Grimes. I still would place Tee ahead of him though. Grimes would be 6th on my lists. I definitely wouldn't have Robinson ahead of Tee but I would have him in the top 10.

Thanks!

Do you think that Elam kid regrets going to UK over Bama? Is he even in the starting lineup? Bama is going to recruit well no matter which state it's in and there's not a thing we can do about it. It sucks.

I just think he would have been a bust regardless of where he ended up. At least UK he has had a shot at playing. At Bama, he would never make it, and honestly would have been forced out. It's odd when you get a recruit from Bama, but he's a flop. And on a side note...Elam's not a very good guy outside sports. So tifwiw.

Who is your source Tony?

I assume this is in reference to Tony agreeing with me saying he's basically a Bama lock (silent commit).

I've heard this from multiple people at the HS. Also according to someone at UK who said UK has given up mostly. Someone also told me a local media source reported it unofficially.

Bartow from 247 has reported it in the last 2 weeks too. It's pretty much a lock to Bama.

Not a surprise. He is too highly rated for us.

You can say that about Trey Smith too then. I think this loss to USCe is going to kill our recruiting especially for the rest of 2017 plus the Hurd situation.

We can drop as many commits as we want now but I don't see players like a Trey Smith, Cam Akers, T.J. Moore, & possibly even Lamont Wade want to come to UT now. That's the honest truth about what this loss has done to us. :jpshakehead:

Do you think recruits will drop Ga because of Vandy? Or Ohio State because of Penn State? Good teams and good programs lose sometimes. Not optimal, but not the end of the program.

We are not Ohio State. We are not Penn State in regards to program prestige in recent years. We just aren't back up there to program prestige status where this can't hurt us recruiting. That's my opinion.

Then state it as an opinion and not as a fact. I sincerely hope you aren't trying to say that we can't out-recruit Penn State because of "program presitige". The last time Penn State won a national championship was 40 years ago. Granted, Ohio State and Bama are in a class by themselves right now. But Tennessee can certainly have a strong finish this season, go 9-3 and absolutely have a top ten recruiting class. If a player like Trey Smith or Lamont Wade (Akers is a long shot let's be honest) loses interest because we lost 3 games in a season, kind of show's they're a little fair weather doesn't it? It would be difference if we were looking like we would go 5-7. But that isn't the case.

I'm saying our program prestige isn't what it was in the Fulmer days because we've not been able to get back on top or even close.

Of course, we can compete with Penn State in recruiting. I'm just saying or asking what is it going to take to be an Ohio State or Alabama?

Winning games & SEC East & then national championships. We're far far away from that right now with Butch at the controls.

We're trying to get better but with the talent that Butch has recruited ain't matching up with the status where we should be going. That's a problem!

Actually you said that we would be unable to recruit excellent players because of this loss. That may not be what you meant, but that is what you said. My examples were of other teams that suffered bad losses and you said they have higher prestige. Fine, if you want to say we can't recruit because we don't have prestige, we can have that conversation (I think that would be wrong too). But this loss will not eliminate our opportunity to recruit good players.

I meant exactly what I said buddy. The loss to USCe will most certainly affect recruiting moving forward. I feel like it might take away our chances in getting some of the 4* & 5* recruits we had in mind before the loss. Program prestige is a whole different topic. We had lost some of that program prestige after Fulmer left.

We used to get some top notch talent like a Bama or Ohio State. In the past 15+ years until Butch got here we rarely got those type of kids. That's what I mean by it hurt our program prestige in those in between years.

Now, our program prestige had appeared to be come back & turning the corner to get back towards the top but with what's happening now in a season where this team expected to win the SEC East & possibly compete for a national title it sets us back again. I just hope it doesn't hurt us in recruiting as bad as I think it's going to do. Thanks!

I'm saying it won't. I think you are over hyping one loss wrt recruiting. Ive never heard a player cite a single loss as reason not to attend a school and losses happen every week. Let's win out and see what happens. We may reflect on this loss as an anomaly at seasons end, as might any interested prospects.

With all due respect, you're missing what the expectations were for this team in 2016. That's the biggest failing point. It's got to hurt recruiting when you supposedly have one of the top talented teams in the country & can't even win the SEC East. Players are going to think twice about coming to UT with those kinds of expectations & failing bigtime.

It was supposed to happen for us in 2016 with all that top talent that CBJ brought in & look what has happened. You don't think that affects recruits & their mindset? You better think again buddy. I hope it just doesn't hurt as bad as I see it possibly happening.

I understand the expectations perfectly well. Right now we have lost one more game than was anticipated my most. We have also had some epic wins and broken a streak against our biggest rival. The team is still poised to have an excellent season.

Frankly, I'd rather be where we are than Georgia right now. Let's see how recruiting goes over the next three months then we can decide how this loss affected it. I think we will conclude that its effect on recruiting was minimal. Time does that.

You realize you are arguing with one of the least knowledge people in this forum right? If not for 24/7 he'd have nothing to say
