I laugh at the morons who still question this staffs ability to recruit.
Terrific all-around kid & player, exactly the kind you want as a VFL.
As a junior, Labruzza was a two-way first team selection to the 8-3A All-District team and All-Livingston Parish Football team as both a running back and defensive back. He finished the 2015 season with 1,137 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns on just 67 carries for a whopping 16.9 yards-per-carry average. On defense he had 46 tackles and three takedowns for losses.
At 6-0, 183 pounds, he runs a 4.56 40-yard dash time and can bench press 250 pounds. He is known around campus for his leadership and work ethic and has great expectations for the Hornets and for himself as a team leader his senior year.

Labruzza's personal trainer, former New Orleans Saint J.J. McCleskey, gave glowing praise of his latest prodigy.
"He has a Hall of Fame work ethic," McCleskey said. "He is a longer version of former NFL great Aeneas Williams, who outworked everyone. Cheyenne is a special player that shows up every session and gives it all he has. His quiet, polite demeanor can be misleading. The kid has that dog in him."

When it's really going to be telling is when some of the apparently lower ranked guys are starting in 2 or 3 years and there is no perceptible drop off from the higher ranked guys. Everyone screams for service ranked 4 and 5 stars, while nobody outside of the staff knows what they have them ranked at. It's Bob Welton's job to find talented kids, and it appears that he knows how to do it.
It is also our coaches evaluations. Not just stars and offer lists.
No one had given the DT from Louisiana the time of day until after UT offered last year. LSU hadn't even offered the young man. People said the same thing last year with him at the time of commitment. Then everyone went nuts when he blew up, got offers from other schools and then de-committed and committed LSU.
Let the coaches do their jobs. They're pretty good at it.
