'17 LA CB Cheyenne Labruzza (UT signeee)

“My plan was to come up for the game and see the atmosphere and I told myself if I liked it I would commit,” Labruzza said. The atmosphere was great and it was the place for me.”

Why Tennessee for Labruzza?

“It just felt like the best fit and opportunity for me,” Labruzza said. “The coaching staff is great and I really like coach (Willie) Martinez. And I have a good connection with coach (Bob) Shoop and coach (Butch) Jones and this is just the best place for me.

SCOUTING REPORT ON LABRUZZA:

Now we turn to Rivals.com Southeast Recruiting Analyst Woody Wommack for more on Labruzza:

"While he's not the tallest guy in the world, Labruzza has good length and that's something college coaches put a premium on at the corner position. He's very quick and can turn and run with most wide receivers, too."

I can think of several from LA that balled of those the DB's that come to mind are Jackson, Wade, and Williams

I think we've done well in that state period

Peyton Manning
Raynoch Thompson
Robert Peace
Jon Wade
Lucas Taylor
Leanord Scott
Prentiss Waggnor
Herman Lathers

all were good players at UT.

I live in Baton Rouge and have seen this kid's name in connection to LSU for a while. Real glad we picked him up. He'll be a stud.

What? I think you misread my post

Labruzza’s is a DB so I included just former LA DB’s and yes, as a whole we’ve had several from LA do well and a few not so well, Jackson and Paige for instance who you left off as well as Gaines, Reado, Silvan and Shaw along with volinexile's Thomas

On the topic of LA recruits, does anyone remember the guy we signed who drowned on a senior trip or vacation prior to reporting to UT. Real tragedy and I've forgotten his name.

Update: Ivan Zenon class of 1993 - RIP

Like myself, you are definitely a "senior" member not only because you recall a recruit from '93, but also because 23 years seems like 7-8!

Yep definitely getting long in the tooth.

If I recall correctly, Fulmer and some other staff traveled to his funeral and none of the LSU staff bothered. Can't even remember who was the LSU coach then.

Edit: I see Curley Hallman was in his third year.

"I'm not going to shut down LSU's recruitment. I am open to hearing what they have to say. I have a lot of respect and great relationships with that staff, but I feel pretty strong in my commitment to Tennessee right now."

This will come down to signing day. LSU gon lsu

Why even commit? Stuff like this kills my vibe...

However, winning fixes everything. Recruits will really hop on board after the first few games of the season.

AKA I will flip my commitment to LSU when the time is right. Not sure why we recruit this state. #WasteOfTime.
