'17 LA CB Cheyenne Labruzza (UT signeee)

Why are you all freaking out? They'll always come after our players period. We're getting good players now just sit back and see if we can win this battle. LSU can't sell a thing with Bama punishing them over and over again. Will Les be there long term?

In reading 247's article he says he is solid to TN, but won't ignore LSU's overtures so that he can have a fall back plan. But no more visits to LSU.

Maybe EO told him we'd recruit over him and dump him? (Blue font)

AKA I will flip my commitment to LSU when the time is right. Not sure why we recruit this state. #WasteOfTime.

I read it as positive for us. He's been there multiple times while holding an offer from them and still picked us. Every decent commit we get is going to be recruited hard.

Not sure that should be in blue font.

I agree, but our history of recruiting highly sought after LA prospects has been grim to say the least.

It takes a special kind of person to recruit at this level. Butch has the stones to do it. Some of you guys just don't have the stomach for it lol. Ya'll would be tapping out before the fight even got started.

Examples please...my memory is most of our LSU talent came pre-Saban.

Jonathan Wade was highly recruited...... Elite Athlete coming out of HS. We were going everywhere getting whoever we wanted at the time. I remember us going in Cali on the regular at the time. I'd have to go back through all the classes. But Wade immediately comes to mind as a kid out of Louisiana.

Well technically "Slick" Shelley iirc, but we all know how that turned out.

EDIT: Or was he out of Arkansas?

Quick google;

Saban at LSU 2000-2004

UT recruits from Louisana 2000-2004

2000 - nobody
2001 - Jason Mitchell LB - starter as a senior
2002 - Jonathan Wade WR - good player
2003 - nobody
2004 - Chris Brown TE - good player
- Ja'Kouri Williams RB - stuck around for some ST play

Thank you for the facts. 👌

We can go in and win but you can't expect to win a bunch of kids out of Louisiana. Bama doesn't even just kill there. But to not recruit good players out of Louisiana would be crazy.

I understand your point, yet I still see it as a futile effort. For whatever reason, Tennessee doesn't recruit LA well. Even players like Dallas Thomas and Lucas Taylor were under the radar type guys that LSU didn't put up much of a fight for. Otha Peters, who wound up a bust anyways, wasn't recruited by LSU either.

And yes I know he signed with Arkansas.

Is this for real--not even visited campus--I have to say then this probably will not happen

You know what makes me sad? You do! Maybe we should chug on over to mamby pamby land where MAYBE we can find some self confidence for you, ya JACK WAGON!

LSU's depth chart at CB should help TN here. Coaches will push for him, but not that hard as there are bigger needs in this class (front 7) and Bama is trying to poach pretty much all of them.

That's nice to hear, though being Tennessee, and having Butch Jones, I'm not afraid in recruiting battles one bit! We will be competive and win our fair share of recruiting battles with elite prospects. Labruzza being one of those! Watch this kids highlights, STUD!
