The odd thing about champions of life is rarely if ever heard before Butch said it and got crucified but then about every coach or AD has used that in ether their press conference, hiring requirements/ads etc since. Lol... Shows you how much people dislike butch

You can say that at a small school or if you're winning games your supposed to. When you're at Tennessee and lose to Vandy by double digits and South Carolina off a bye it doesn't go over well.

Yesterday he set official visits to all 3 finalists. Oregon on 1/14, Tennessee on 1/21 and A&M on 1/28.

Chad Simmons says he eliminated Oregon with the coaching change.

At this time, there are three main schools involved, and the No. 17 running back in the country has official visits scheduled with each in January. Etienne is a former Texas A&M commit, and the Aggies will receive an official visit January 13. The Tennessee will host him on January 21, and the weekend before signing day, he plans to visit the in-state school, LSU.

But right now, the team trending is the one located in College Station (Texas). Etienne is comfortable with the Aggie coaching staff, he has been there, and they have been recruiting him longer and harder than LSU or Tennessee.

The second visit in January, to Tennessee will be a big one because Etienne wants to see what it is like in Knoxville.

I was just giving the guy crap. :) I actually like Butch, although the end of the season might not have gone as planned, I think he has done good at Tennessee. (Please refrain from throwing popcorn at me. )

I give all the LSU fans down here alot of crap. I like y'all alot better than Bammer fans. Hattiesburg is roughly split 50/50.

Dec. 22 update: Texas A&M had Etienne on its commitment list at one time and he may end up back on it. The Aggies are trending right now for the top running back in Louisiana, but it is not over. Tennessee is very much involved, and if LSU goes all in, the Tigers could quickly become the team to beat.

It was the proximity of that statement to his claiming that "winning the east was never a stated goal you'd ever heard him talk about" that got him roasted, not the words themselves.

Actually talking about the senior class and it was taken and made fun of by hacks for click journalist and you have joined their ranks as a poster. Jones has things to fix with his program but the young men graduating within his program so far is not one of them. APR solved as well.

LSU just offered

Think its safe to say he is not coming here

Hmm... this coupled with the news from PFort that Gillespie is not feeling as confident makes me think that coaches have just been notified where he is going.

Sweet is talking about Etienne. Fort was talking about Akers.

I know. I think LSU was holding out hope they could sneak in and land Akers… I think all of the coaching staffs have just been notified where Akers is going, and is why LSU just offered this kid.
