So in other words LSU swoops in and grabs a LA , no big surprise here.
I'm wondering if they have room on scholarships to grab Etienne if he wants to commit there myself. They've already had problems with numbers.
They would probably have to let another commit go which would be way more than us let go already.
I'm not familar with Knox Karns High School in detail if that's who you're talking about. I didn't know there was a 4* RB playing at Karns? You are pulling my leg aren't you buddy?
Nothing against them, but Karns never has been a powerhouse program. They might have had a 4 star cheerleader once upon a time, so I feel he is not only pulling your leg, but if you don't pull away immediately, you won't be winning any ass kicking contests.
I don't know why he even responded with that anyhow.
Because LSU can seemingly waltz into any high school in Louisiana the night before signing day and have whomever they want just because they are LSU and the kid is from Louisiana in spite despite ignoring that kid for the previous 2 years.
Tennessee can't even pull a top 3 WR who lives 20 miles from campus, grew up a Tennessee fan, and is named after our national championship quarterback.
Just two completely different cultures.
LSU posters say he's always wanted to play at LSU more than anywhere else. Apparently, LSU was holding off on offering until after Akers' decision. If that's true and he's a take for LSU, it sure seems like they'll get him. He's the real deal too, imo.Travis Etienne's Top 6 per 247 in no particular order:
Texas A&M, Oregon, LSU, UT, Bama, & Miami.

They all can't. It depends on the program and how much the player wants to go there. Vols falling short of expectations this season likely hurt both in-state and out-of-state recruiting some.Lol. It's amazing how every in-state school can slow play their in-state recruits and still land them, except Tennessee. If we don't offer 2 years before they graduate, then there's no Wray we will land them.

As Chris stated previously, it's a culture and way of life that this state does not have.
Hmm. Each recruit is different but generally speaking distance has a lot to do with it, and the in-state school obviously has other advantages on top. LSU has a hard time getting Tennessee recruits although there has been a few. I believe thinking recruits are somehow completely pissed off because a school doesn't make them #1 priority is not how this works, generally. College sports and football recruiting in general is kind of bizarre, neither side really knows where everyone stands at least legally.
Sounds like LSU said if Akers didn't come than there was a spot for Etienne, not sure why he would be mad because they had someone higher on the board.
Valid points, however:I understand the reasoning for us, yet, LSU has gone 8-5, 9-3, and 7-4 the last 3 years, hired their interim coach who was 10-25 previously as a permanent head coach, and can still get who they want in-state.

Other than LSU having some new staff members, I don't know why anyone would be excited about the hire. Yet, UT has the same record the last 2 years, and the perception seems to be that we are a sinking ship.
