'17 MS TE Chase Rogers (Former UT commit)

We need an explosive freshman TE to come in like Georgia has!

Well I am very familiar with Nauta. Seen his film 100 times trying to figure out what makes him a 5 star when Chase is only a 3 star. Same size, Chase runs a faster 40 and runs after the catch so much better. Simple makes no sense to me. I Know Chase's intangibles, toughness, dedication, humble and a total team player so I just don't get it..

You'll drive yourself crazy worrying about recruiting site rankings. Once Chase leaves high school none of that matters anyway.

I'm sure there's no bias there at all either :)

I have played the game, I have coached a lot of teams. True that I know Chase inside and out. Not saying he is better, just can't see that Nauta is 2 stars better. Honestly the only thing I can see is he may block better. Hell yea I am bias!!lol Take a look for yourself at both of their hudl films. Chase freshman, sophomore, junior and 5 games his Senior year. Hell Chase has started 44 straight highs school games with 8 more left to play. H will have 52 starts as a high school player. He is ready to be a Vol!!!

Believe me, we are absolutely sold on Tennessee and not losing any sleep about being a 3 star. Coach Scott hand picked Chase and believes he is special. That's all that matters.

Graham or Gronk to describe Chase?

Chase has big hands.. 9 1/2 inches, long wing span.. 82 inches height is 6' 3 1/4 as Tennessee measured standards. Very intelligent when it comes to the game and assignments. Great hands, deceiving game speed and runs like a running back with cuts and vision. Has been compared to Graham.

This is starting to remind me of Auntie D on the Bball forum. Hoping for a better ending.

I would bet my life that everyone in Tennessee will be very happy with how this story ends pending no major injury. I am aware this is no daddy ball. Chase has two mentors that were successful professional athletes Brett Favre and Stevon Moore. Spent a lot time with these guys. He is ready for welcome to the SEC!!!

I think what he means is we have our fair share of 100% idiot douche bags on here that are dumber than a bag of hammers and have zero tact. My advice is to stay here in the recruiting forum because they are less prevalent here but they do show up from time to time.

The first time your son doesn't make the incredible catch he will be attacked and Butch will get criticized for offering him in the first place. I don't mind some constructive criticism as you shouldn't either (and i expect from your post history you won't), but some of it goes way beyond constructive. Develop a thick skin and keep these things in mind:

1. The idiots make up a very small percentage of the fans in general and on this site.

2. Some of these idiots are not really Vol fans but are trolls posing as fans.

3. All schools have these idiots among their fan base.

How true.

Forgive me if you've already said or I missed it, but did Chase attend many camps in the summer? That tends to be where a lot of kids are looked at by these recruiting analysts, and the more money that pours into these sites via camp, the more likely you'll get a high ranking. That's the politics as I've seen it over the years in recruiting. That's also why you still might not see a guy like Ty Chandler get a 5th star, despite dominating week in and week out. He didn't do many camps, so the recruiting services are less likely to reward his good performance.

All that to say, I think Chase is a great TE prospect. One of my favorite highlight films I've watched this cycle :salute:.

I totally understand, nothing anyone can ever say on here will phase me. I enjoy talking football. Thanks for the explanation of the site and for your concern.

Chase did one Nike camp at the end of his Sophomore year. Then both Summer's he had injuries. Cut his foot on a bottle one year and needed stitches. Could not walk for 12 days. Then surgery this past summer. He did visit 5 schools for smaller camps before he cut his foot. Ole Miss, State, Auburn, Alabama, Cinn, South Alabama. Camps do help a great deal

The same Brett that lost to Ben Stiller in There's something about Mary?

I watched Nauta when he was at Buford. They came to Cartersville and beat us in the playoffs. Nauta transferred to IMG, and Cartersville beat Buford in the State Championship game. I personally think he was rated high because of his play at DE. He created havoc the entire game. He transferred to IMG because he wanted to play TE and Buford doesn't throw the ball.... Long story short, he was rated a 5* while at Buford, and not really getting many passes his way. So, it may be difficult to compare Chase's film with his. jmo

My friend, you are obviously a very proud father who thinks the world of your son. There's no way in hell you won't be phased when some of these trolls roll out and start trashing Chase, and it will happen. They trash our best performers along with our worst performers...its sickening actually.

I've enjoyed reading your insights, but my advise to you is be emotionally prepared for the shat storm that's coming if you continue to actively post to this forum. Sucks that some of these idiots ruin it, but its a fact not just a possibility.
