'17 MS TE Chase Rogers (Former UT commit)

It's not a sad way of doing it, it's a p**** way to do it. Be a man and have enough respect for the kid and his family to call them personally and tell them what is happening and be honest. Don't get upset if a kid flips and say kids don't understand what 'commitment' means when apparently coaches don't know the meaning either.

I understand changes happen, but show respect (both ways commit or coach) and remember, you are only good as your word.

And your coach is Kirby Smart.

Crap happens, it's recruiting. You being a member at four separate teams sites, you should know better.

Of course the father is gonna defend his son and say anything to put him in a positive light....everyone always jumps to conclusions to trash this coaching staff over everything...it's the VN way.

Unfortunate. Kid is doing well this year. Lack of communication would be a good reason to bail. The staff should at least tell a kid he's been pushed out instead of "hoping" they get the message. If it's business, make the call. Don't be a punk about it.

Hmmm makes no sense

What makes no sense? This fiasco about possibly letting Rogers go or the entire thing of letting several commits go elsewhere? It was obvious that a few recruits were going to be allowed to go elsewhere but if you're questioning the possibility of Rogers being let go I can perfectly understand your concerns just as I. Thanks!

Don't care who the coach is, goes for every college coach. To the coach, he is basically just a chess piece, to the kid, it's his future for the rest of his life. Contacts in the business world start with the name on your sheet of paper.

I really enjoyed being on Vol Nation. I think I am crazy like most of you on here and have felt the love. This is less about another school and more about what Tenn has done. We have had one text in 3 weeks.. Best interest for us to step back. We are greatful for Tenn and because of that Chase has had this rate increase. Thanks again

Rate increase?

Hmmmm, guess our boosters need to step it up.

And if that 3 star flips, you'll be extolling his greatness...As The VN Turns. :)

I never said Rogers was great, but he did have a better offer list. Brown's offer list isn't impressive at all as of today.

Supposedly getting a lot of attention. So if his offers get "better" we can go back to mehing him as a 3 star? :)

Tennessee

- A couple guys trending down on Tennessee's commit list include Maleik Gray, still a Top247 four-star but now ranked outside the Top100. We're still waiting him to show more physicality on defense. Defensive tackle commit Breyon Gaddy moves down to the three-star range but he remains a high upside prospect because of his massive frame.

- Tight end Chase Rogers deserves a raise among the three-stars. He's having a monster year and we'll have a chance to see him in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star classic for further evaluation. Shawn Shamburger is scrappy and physical at cornerback and warrants a small bump as well.-247 today

I sure as heck hope we don't allow Gray to go elsewhere or he de-commits. He's a 4* for a reason & while his motor doesn't turn all the time in high school coaching can change that. This kid has enormous skills.
