'17 MS TE Chase Rogers (Former UT commit)

Really sucks that it didn't work out. There must be something else we don't know about. You figure some P5 would have been in by now.

Yeah. We as fans only get a small piece of the information pie. I wish nothing but the best for him but two P5 schools passing on him is an interesting development.

Yeah, Texas has taken 2 TE's since Herman became head coach. I thought I had seen that Rogers was trying to get Oregon to offer/take an OV there, but maybe there's not interest.

I always have a problem with a parent of an recruit on a message broad. Cause it seems they end up in a way making it look like its the coaches fault or make comments on how they think the recruit was miss handled. We hear that one side and for whatever reason some would rather blame a coach and sometimes it comes out like this that there is something more to the story. I do not wish any bad will on Chase and hope he finds a place to play. I just think we need to be careful of a parent coming and pushing their kid on here. Now MZ Terry, in case some mention her, was a class out and a different story. I still feel its better from parents who may have a son playing at the moment to stay away because it can get ugly in here and easy to get feelings hurt. JMO

What happened to Ole Miss in this recruitment?

Also yes, parents do not need to be anywhere close to this forum. MZ Terry was the exception to the rule but only because Croom has a lot of talent and she has very thick skin.

I thought his dad went out of his way to not blame the coaches too much. He would have preferred to be notified that he was dropped but other than that, dad understood the business nature of it. But I agree that a parent on a message board is looking for heartache. If they existed in the day, I think Archie Manning would have been miffed at comments about Peyton, because you know someone would complain long and loud.

There is definitely a missing piece to this puzzle. A record setting TE that no major program seems to want. Very interesting to say the least.

Suprised he is having trouble catching on anywhere with his dad mentioned all the suitors. I am guessing we probably wouldn't take him back with Bumphus wanting to play TE

Here's something....maybe his dad wasn't telling the truth? Gasp!! Could it be!!? His commitment to ULL says a lot.

Also...ever think that maybe his dad might have been the problem in his recruitment....?

At this point it's pretty evident something was going on. Maybe someone was looking for money or was annoying the coaches like Chris Leak's dad did to Fulmer.

At this point, what does it matter. He seems like a good kid and he did put up some great numbers in high school. I hope he balls out at ULL and has a great career and gets a great education. None of us will ever know if there was anything going on, and in the end, it does not matter in the least.

Weird he committed to Louisiana Lafayette. There had to be something else going on. He's a power 5 player.

I guess all those self promoting teeets just didnt work. Or maybe it was the Dad piblically giving coaches ultimatums about how to handle his baby that turned off all the big boys.

It still seems weird to me. UT took his commitment and thought he had enough potential to play for us. And it's not like some he took a step back his senior year. His stats were up across the board and (by my untrained eye) his film looked awesome.

I guess we'll never know.

The thing that was a red flag to me was Chase attending a game we lost. He got upset and left the game and other recruits. He didn't stick around to meet with the coaches. We wouldn't have known about it had his dad not mentioned it, saying he just really likes to win. Thought that was all really weird.
