Unless something has changed in the last few weeks, Stokes is giving up football to focus on basketball.

That's what I thought.

He's focusing on basketball. Won't be a CFB player unless he decides to give it a go after enrolling somewhere for basketball.

We could use him in basketball as well. Our current weakness is lack of size.

247 has him as a composite 3* with a tennessee offer but don't know if that's from an old staff or not

It also lists him at 6 foot 8 and 285lbs so he's a big dude

Are there any bball players that size? Seems a weird size for basketball. I thought he was a little taller than that. Man that's a perfect OT size though...

Why does a monster-sized kid in 8th grade automatically equate to instant success in FBS football?

He looks like he's playing against munchkins. Also, just because Jarnell is here doesn't mean squat, because Jarnell will be LONG gone by the time this kid gets his first sniff at any (legit) offer. And one more thing--Just because he's a Stokes doesn't mean he'll be good. Basketball =/= football.

Well this just goes to show you how poorly ran the athletic program is in Gainesville. They could just go to Dick's or Academy and pick up some basketballs but NO! They recruit an 18 year old kid instead.

This is an outrage! How can he even fit through the hoop?

If you look at the cover maybe but when you look inside Jarnell was leaning Flordia but couldn't get a scholarship midyear so was fine with going to TN. Also remember that team in Martins last year was steered to dislike our fanbase by their coaches as motivation for their tourney run.
