I know Tee is great and deserves his rating but JaCoby Stevens is incredible. To say it isn't close is ignorant.

JaCoby reminds me of Sean Taylor. Covers the field but will come up in run defense and absolutely destroy the ball carrier.

Just because he is flirting with a rival school doesn't mean we have to look for holes in his game or diminish his talent.

No one on VN, that I know of, disagrees with DH4 in the fact that Tee Higgins is an elite talent at WR. Or at least should be an elite talent. Where people are disagreeing, and rightfully so, is his assertion that Jacoby Stevens is no where near as talented as Tee Higgins. The reason we don't agree is because it is an absolutely ludicrous notion.

I see Higgins as the more important recruit for us for two reasons:

1. We had a stellar DB class in 2016. WR, not as good (no knock on our WR recruits). Basically, we brought in 2 guys who project to be able to play Jacoby's position At a very high level.

2. Deangelo Gibbs is a very similar prospect to Stevens and we seem to be in a good position with him. IMO, if we get one of the two we're fine. If Stevens going to UGA meant that Gibbs comes to UT, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Just playing the Devils Advocate but I think we get Gibbs either way and I would rather face Stevens one time at LSU then 3-4 at UGA. If he won't wear Orange I hope he at least leaves the division.

It's a LONG way to NSD. So many things could happen between now and then. Vols could have "ok" but not great season, Smartt looks like a good HC and LSU has a big season, then maybe we aren't sitting too well here. BUT, we could have a fantastic season, Smartt may not get out of the blocks well at UGA and LSU has another mediocre to bad season, Les gets fired...... then we're looking pretty good.

A lot of things have to play out between now and next February.

I will say this, of the 3 programs I mentioned, the VOLS are the only team on an obvious upward trajectory.
