'17 TN ATH Jacoby Stevens (LSU commit)

So Gibbs...who everyone thinks is a VOL lean is going to Athens. And Stevens is going to Knoxville. Either nobody knows what's going on with these kids, or they don't place the same value on spring games that we do.

Don't forget Gibbs is taking a test that morning. By the time he finishes, he probably won't have time to make it to Knoxville.

Gibbs will be a Vol come NSD barring any meltdown on the field. We are in good shape with him

I'm not saying he wont. Guess I'm just surprised that recruits don't make more of an effort to attend spring games of their favorite schools.

Isn't he the one taking a test in the morning?

A standardized test a few hours earlier in the day that might determine his ability get into his favorite school might have something to do with it.

Has this game been scheduled for 4 months? He lives in metro Atlanta and there are probably 3 schools offering the test every weekend. I'm not hating on him for getting his academics in order. I would just like to have seen him at the game since it was mentioned that he was going to be a leader of this class. Just my opinion.

Rowe with CB for TN
Callahan with CB for UGA

So, basically, nobody knows. Let's hope Rowe knows something.

He was asked, his reasoning was Tn was the home state and how much easier it is for him to be in Knoxville. This theory works with 75% of kids. Normally a school in driving distance of 4 hours is good for a momma's boy. Distance normally plays some factor in a recruitment.

Feels like the Kyle Phillips situation. He likes other schools in the SEC but wants to play close to home. I'd say this weekend will be huge for us.

I am sure Gibbs and his family sat down and looked at when the UT Spring game was going to be when scheduling his test.

Gibbs has been here more than probably any of the kids who signed in the '16 class and you are worried about how he schedules his life around visits and a Spring game.

C'mon guys, I know its the off-season but good grief.

I said I wasn't mad about him getting his academics straight. He and his family don't owe me anything. I just commented initially that it was funny that he and Stevens were kind of at opposite schools on the day of Spring Games. Then I just said that I wished he could have managed to schedule his test around the OW game. I'm certainly not worried about it. I'm just a fan on a message board. I'm aware of where my opinion sits in the food chain. No worries:)

Jacoby will be in attendance tomorrow. Guys thk God for logistical favor, lol. Jacoby sister has a volleyball tournament in Knoxville along with NPA camp on Sunday. I look for the coaches to put on a great presentation for him and us to make a jump from 5th to 1st or 2nd.
