'17 TN ATH Jacoby Stevens (LSU commit)

Its going to be an uphill battle all the way and 2017 is slated to be a big year for us. With a little momentum and some persistence you never know. Just hope he gives us a serious look. I'm sure he will after he sees the sort of talent Butch is recruiting.

I went to Oakland back in '04, the talent on the team now compared to then is amazing.

And I remember coach Aydelott from Hillsboro (when I left Oakland and moved back to Nashville) he was one of my gym teachers. My friend from Riverdale (that played for MTSU) said he was a pretty respectable guy. Sad to hear what happened.

How is Aydelott doing following the attack?

Take it for what it's worth, but I seen him at Kroger over by Oakland the other day and he had on Orange Hi-Tops.....not Clemson orange nor Texas orange, but the real Orange PMS 151. VOL LOCK!!

Did he have Crab Legs.:eek:lol:

Jacoby is a NPA kid and he is as athletic as it gets. This kid at WR attacks the ball at the highest point and on defense at S is as physical and can be a ball hawk too. Anybody who doesn't believe me May 24 he will be in the building and working during camp.

I watched a ton of Oakland games, and I didnt think that old staff used him enough

JAcoby had an excellent day at the NPA camp. This kid has an amazing upside. At one point he played safety then switched sides and played WR. It was so nasty when he went to WR one of the E. Tn kids who was locking it down against all the WR group was talking lots of noise. Jacoby goes 1 on 1 with him, not only does he catch the ball but he did it in Randy Moss fashion and then asked the kid are you still talking. Guys 17 is a great class for the state of TN.

Best Hands

It was a banner day for Stevens, who has recovered from a turf toe injury that sidelined him at times during the spring. He showed that he's still capable of making highlight plays. He caught pretty much every pass that came his way Sunday and even a few that didn't initially look on target. Stevens can play offense or defense at the next level but no matter which side of the ball he's on, his consistent hands will be a definite asset.

"At defensive back, William Poole III, instate corner Gentry Bonds, Isaiah Pryor, Jeffrey Okudah and Jacoby Stevens (who could also play receiver) are all getting a lot of attention from the Vols." - VQ

I know the early thinking on this kid is that he's an LSU lean, but I'm hoping Jack Jones and Kyle Oliver can help us out here. Having two former teammates of his here has to help, right? Seems like he has a ton of potential.

I think he is the best dB in the state. He is an absolute hammer filling the lane.

Talked to someone on his HS team and said he's always loved LSU and is high on aTm because of Chavis. Kid said those were probably his top two right now, but LSU has always been his favorite.

TIFWIW

IIRC he is from LA and is a relatively recent transplant to TN. Lots of ties still to LA. They may have the early advantage, but Butch has lots of time to work. Hopefully he can get it done.

I know he was at Ensworth then went to Oakland but not sure about where he was before Ensworth. I think it's just LSU was a hot team as he grew up and AM is a hot team now. By the time he signs TN will be the hot team. Butch will be all over him so if anyone wants to try to pull him out of state better be ready to give 200% effort because Jones don't play when it comes to his in state studs

Good kid attacks the ball at its highest point with athleticism and agression at Wr has good speed and size. Also at S he is a major asset because due to length and speed he can cover a lot of ground. He also will come down in the box and knock your head off. On the Ensworth stuff he was being dorced into a position of no benefits to the kid and absolutely hated it. Bowers had him playing DE/OLB and it was not to the benefits for the future of the kid. Glad we could help find a solution to help the kid and his parents that made them happy.

Thanks De1.Kinds what I saw the couple of times I watched him play last year.Kid plays hard and is always around the ball.I really like this kid.On the Bowers deal. What is wrong with him.I've had multiple hs coaches tell me he is an absolute ass.One told me he makes the college recruiters make appointments to speak with him. That's crazy as hell.I know he's a good hs coach but I think hes a little full of himself.
